Portrait Photo Canvas from PhotoBox

We have hung our family portraits above our bed for a number of years now, ever since the kids have been able to pose nicely for photos.  I enjoy the constant reminder that I am fortunate to have them and for us to have each other.  So I was so glad to be offered to review this photo canvas! PhotoBox offers three different formats (Rectangular, Square and Panoramic) and various sizes of Photo Canvas. I went for the biggest size to suit our wall, rectangular 76.2cm x 50.8cm (30 x 20 inch) with photo wrapping around edges.

Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom Live on Stage

Both of my children are massive fans of Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. Ms C likes to pretend she is Princess Holly while Mr K likes to be Ben. We also own a little castle magical playset, a toadstool playset and lunch box. Now and then, they like to watch it on TV or YouTube. When I told them that we are going to watch Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom live on stage, they were so excited! We had made a video months ago to enter the Ben and Holly competition.

Sooty The Children’s Party

This week has been a hard week for us. Both of my children had fever and sore throats since last week. Since both of them have to be off school, I gave them Sooty The Children’s Party DVD to watch. Within a minute of watching, both children were raucous with laughter! They were both amused by Richard’s funny actions with his team Sooty, Sweep and Soo. This helped lighten both children’s moods and they felt so much better. There are five fun-filled episodes on the DVD running 55 minutes in total. I love their small funky campervan. It brings back memories of us going on our campervan trip. They also go to the seaside in the Beach Patrol episode which both of my children love.

Abadas Come and Play

Abadas is a CBeebies show screened every day Monday to Friday at 9.05am. It is about Hari the hippo, Ela the fox and Seren the bat who live in a pop-up book under Ben’s bed. There is an educational element to the show in that it helps children to learn new vocabulary that corresponds with objects they are likely to come across in childhood. It also helps to organise their talk to re-tell a story in its correct sequence. Questions are asked and answered which helps children confirm what they have learned.

Alphablocks Phonics Next Steps Volume 2

In this DVD, there are 12 episodes running 86 minutes in total. They are: Alphablocks A-Z letter sounds; On letter sounds; Van; Party; Web; Wig; Rainbow; Zap; Box; Quick; ABC and The Cat Sat On The Mat. Each episode is fairly short, at approximately 4 minutes long. The programme is very engaging and both children enjoyed every minute of it. There is a lot of music, singing and interesting ways of presenting the words.

BassBoomz Bluetooth Speaker

Technology has improved so much over the years. There is always something new in the market. Mr C is always interested in his sound system. We bought a home cinema speaker bar and upgraded to full surround sound. He even bought a clip on speaker for his laptop to get better sound and some fancy noise-cancelling headphones for travelling so we have embraced a lot of technologies in this household.

Rechargeable Batteries and Ansmann charger

Ever since I had my children, I’ve been amazed by the amount of batteries needed to operate each toy.  Almost every month I’m having to buy multi-packs of batteries to keep up with the power-hungry demands of these toys.  It is getting so ridiculous expensive to buy batteries.  The worst offender is the VTech camera but there are a group of toys that follow closely behind such as the Arc FX Gauntlet Iron man.

La Jewellery Give Me Some Honey earrings

Of all types of jewellery, I adore earring the most. I love the way earrings moves around and can add a look of sophistication or bling, depending on what you fancy!

When La Jewellery offered to give me a set of Give Me Some Honey earrings for review, I could not stop smiling! I had a look at their website and fell in love with them. I do find the name of the earring quite unusual. In fact, the earrings are inspired by the acclaimed healing qualities of Manuka honey and the love of two parents for a child. They are perfect for casual wear or as a gorgeous gift.

Maplin 6-Inch Calendar Clock Digital Photo Frame

I remember 20 years ago, I had to beg my mum to let me develop the film from my disposable camera. Every birthday around that time, I would receive a photo frame. It was an ‘in’ thing during that time.

Nowadays, people rarely print photos and frame it on a photo frame to place it on a desk. Times have changed and everything is going digital. We all love the latest gadgets and how they made our life easier. So I was excited to review this lovely Maplin 6-Inch Calendar Clock with built-in Digital Photo Frame. Why print photos when I can just pop it on an SD card in this gadget to showcase a slideshow of photos?

Chocolate Pudding with Pyrex’s Essentials

Baking with children is one of our activities we do at home when it is a rainy day or simply because we fancy it. It is a great way to teach them and enjoy family time together. I can not say I enjoy it 100% because inevitably you spend double the time cleaning up the mess they make. But it is a great way to prevent them from watching too much TV.
