We were so lucky to win a pair of Yonex All England Open Badminton Championship 2013 Final tickets by entering ActivInstinct Facebook competition. Badminton is my husband’s favourite sport and he was so pleased that we won these tickets worth, more than £30.
Final Day for BBC Doctors at Birmingham University
I can not believe today is his last day of shooting BBC Doctors. It has gone so quick. Today, he had only 3 scenes all shot on location at Birmingham University. The BBC team started late but it didn’t take them too long to set up the scene. It was quite a quick in and out of the door. Mr K was so distracted looking at the furry microphone that our chaperone had to keep asking him to look down.
Second Day of Shooting BBC Doctors
Today, we went to another new location which is the main studio where they film BBC Doctors. It was quite easy to find the place but going to Birmingham is always a nightmare for me! When I turned into the car park, it was filled with ambulance, police cars and vans. Hmm…. I told to myself, did I just drive myself to the Police station. So I came out of the car and had a quick look and saw a sign “Acting car, please do not block”. Right, I am in BBC studios and this is not a real Police station.
When we reached there, we were shown the dressing room and I was quite shocked to see Mr K had his own dressing room. Hooray! It even had his screen name on the door.
A working day for Mr K for BBC Doctors
Last week, we got a call from Alan Sharman agency to ask if Mr K was free around to be put forward for a job. Soon after, we got a follow up phone call to let us know that BBC Doctors wanted Mr K to be part of the show. I was very excited for him. This is his first proper filming job. We did ponder for a while because of the miserly fee especially as he had to work for 6 hours a day. Anyway, we accepted the job.
Hosting Metal Gear Rising Party
I can’t believe that I had won this Metal Gear Rising Party pack through Comeround’s twitter competition to host this weekend. I have received the following to host this party:
Mummy, I want your car!
My son always comes out with endless questions and answers. He loves to talk non-stop and sometimes it can be really funny. Sometimes I wish that I could tape the whole conservation down and play it back when he is older.
This afternoon, while I was driving back from swimming lesson, my son asked me a question, “Mummy, when you die, can I have your car?”. “What?”, I replied in a surprised voice. I was thinking to myself that maybe he, at five years old, is already after inheritance. Who taught him that things get passed down?
Our Snowman
We all love snow for building snowmen! This is our Chopstick snowman made by my husband and children. It took them at least 15 minutes. They all enjoyed building it.
That’s My Hero Competition
“This post is an entry into the Tots100 MoneySupermarket That’s My Hero competition“.
This is a drawing of Laserman as drawn by Mr K, 5. On his helmet, there is a laser and there are rockets attached to the arms. There are also rockets on the bottom of his shoes. It can launch the rockets to shoot his enemies. Mr K’s father is Laserman. His father is Mr K’s hero!

My LG fridge #LGFridgeArt
Last year on the 4th of December, I entered the LGUK competition on Twitter at #LGFridgeArt through BritMums by posting my children’s artwork. All entries were featured on LG Pinterest board, you can check out my children’s artwork there.
On the 18th December, they sent me a direct message through Twitter and told me that I had won. I could not believe it! After a few email exchanges and phone call from the delivery man, finally, my fridge had arrived! I could not stop screaming! It was massive and it was my favourite colour – silver.

Picking up my mummy
Last week, my mummy arrived in the UK to spend some quality time with us over the New Year. We took our car to pick my mum up from Heathrow airport. I have previously blogged about our Honda Jazz describing it as a small but mighty car.

My resolution: Gratitude Jar for 2013
We are coming to the end of the year again and people normally ask “What is your New Year’s resolution”. Each year, my resolution is to lose weight. But this coming 2013, I have something different. Since I started blogging in early May, it has opened my world and through social media I have learnt a lot especially that we have to appreciate life.
Teaching Mandarin lesson
Last week Tuesday, it was my turn to teach the children Mandarin. I was teaching opposites. Before I started my lesson, we went through the revision of family members.
What I wish I’d been told

Try before you buy at your council toy library! – I wish I knew about the council toy library. You pay less than £1 to try out different types of toys for two weeks. Now I know if it is worth buying a new toy – they have so many they’ve only used once.
