Every now and then, life throws us a curve ball. It could be something that’s stressing us out at work, or perhaps some money troubles – whatever is, it’s much easier to deal with it if you feel good. And us ladies know that one great way to feel good is to feel like we look fabulous!
There’s no need to be a ‘yummy mummy’…let’s be realistic – when you’ve got kids, being skinny is the last thing on your mind! Even though I must admit, I have tried all sorts of slimming methods in the past, that doesn’t mean that I don’t think I can look great no matter what size I am! Here’s some tips I’ve picked up over the years for looking and feeling good.
Check your diet
If you pack away the junk food, you’re going to feel rubbish – that’s a simple fact. People underestimate how much what we eat can affect our mood. Eat too much sugar, and you’ll feel more tired. Try to starve yourself thin, and you’ll feel awful from all those nutrients and vitamins you’re missing out on. Just making sure you get a good amount of green veg, red meat and drinking plenty of water can really help boost your mood. And stop eating your kids’ leftover food!
Buy the right size clothes
If you’ve got a target size, it’s still not a good idea to buy clothes in that size and then try to squeeze into them. It will do nothing but make you feel bad – accept the size that you are, and buy clothes that fit. If you want to slip into something that’s just a little too tight, there’s some great shape wear that can do wonders for tucking you in in all the right places!
Get active
I posted before about boogie bounce – this is exactly the kind of thing that’s great for making you feel good. Getting on a trampoline and bouncing around is so much fun, and that buzz you get afterwards is fantastic. Other great exercises are Zumba (so much fun!) and walking. If it’s cold outside, brave the temperature and go for a brisk walk. And of course, just a cuddle from the kids is a sure-fire mood lifter!
