The Official LOGO board game App

7 October 2013 by Eileen

Since last week, The Official LOGO board game app for both iPhone and iPad devices, is on the iTunes App Store list, is completely free to download until 31st December 2013. Sorry to Android users!  Of course as a family gamer, I had already downloaded and played it! This is the one and only Official LOGO app, published with fully granted permissions and approvals from all the contributing companies. Drumond Park launched the LOGO board game property five years ago, and there are now 6 games in the series – so Drumond Park has unrivalled access to the logos of hundreds of UK brands and products, many of which have chosen to appear on the app.

The Official LOGO board game App

If you have not seen or played the LOGO board game, it is to guess everyday brands like Birds Eye, Hovis, Marmite, Tetley, Wagon Wheels, Argos, British Gas, Churchill, National Express, Tesco, Vauxhall, etc. – cleverly combined with some ingeniously tantalising gameplay.

There are 7 question types – Reveal, Blur, Tilt, Grid, Shape, Colour and Trivia – and 12 levels of play. Each level contains 20 questions to be completed within a particular time, and once complete the next level is then unlocked. Each level uses a mix of the question types, involving more than 1,100 questions and approaching 300 images in all. Needless to say the graphics, and the items for the Q&As in the Trivia mode are superbly authentic – because the logos and information displayed all come direct from source.

This is a very exciting game and it is so addictive! I keep wanting to break my own records by solving the 20 questions as quickly as possible! I try not to use my three passes. Personally, I think the colour, tilt and blur are the most difficult to guess. It’s funny that when you remove colour out of logo and asked to guess the colour of one of the elements in the logo, it becomes quite difficult. As for the tilt question type, with the clock ticking, it’s difficult to be controlled and patient to reveal the logo.

Before playing this game, I thought I was pretty good at knowing logos but I was so wrong.  I’ve had so many wrong guesses. Well, I suppose it means that I should pay more attention to all the different brands! This is fun and a free game! So why not download it and see it for yourself.

Disclosure: We received the free code for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
