Last week, I came across this hilarious children’s game Seagull Splat at the Toy Fair 2016 and I know this is going to be a big hit in our house. Who would have thought of having seagull poo their way to victory! This game came out last year and has already proved to be a popular game for children.
This is suitable for ages 4 and above and for 2 to 4 players. The game comes with a seagull, 75ml foam solution, 16 character plastic cards, plastic spinner and instructions. To set up the game, simply fill the seagull with the foam solution at the top of his head and remove the rubbery plug at the bottom of the seagull. Then squeeze the tail of the bird until the bird poops. Now the bird is ready to be used in the game.
There are two ways of playing this game. For younger children, you can opt for the simple game which is to be the last player to keep one of his/her character cards. Each chooses a colour and places the characters in front of them. The player spins the spinner to indicate on which character he/she may poo. If the spinner’s arrow points at the cross, it means you need to skip a turn, if it points at the mixed colour box, it means you can choose any player you like to poo and lastly, if the arrow points to the individual colour, it means it is for that colour only, even if it is your own colour, you have to poo on it. The bird doesn’t always poo so there is an element of luck.
The second way of playing is suitable for older children, where the player has to score the most points by collecting 4 of the same colour character cards. This time, you won’t need the spinner and you simply pick the colour you want and try to make a collection of 4. Each person starts with one colour character card and try to get the bird to poop on the target card!
This is easy to play and fun and is a great game for everyone. Both my children enjoy playing it and now they want to use the seagull to target their friends! It does get quite messy after a few plays but the bubbles do smell very nice! The bubbles are unlike those in a bubble mixture. They are denser and smaller bubbles. Overall this is a fun game to play. It is available to buy from Argos, Tesco, John Lewis or Amazon.
