Illustration School: Let’s Draw A Story is created by one of Japan’s most popular artists, Sachiko Umoto. This book offers a story in a sketchbook teaching you all kinds of simple fun techniques to help you to illustrate your own story. Published by Quarry Books, £10.99.

In this book, Sachiko’s unique drawing style made the book so easy to follow and read.  She started the book by introducing the basics of the basics.  The instructions are very easy to understand that even a young child could follow.

This book is presented through a finish the story format sketchbook and art journal. It has 29 different scenes to help you to start a story using fun drawings. Besides that, each scene has empty space for you to trace and practices your drawing! From drawing stripes for the tiger to a rainbow, from a castle to the sea and many more interesting scenes! There are so many opportunities for you to practice using the book!

I would recommend this book if you are keen to learn her unique style of drawing.  It is very simple to follow and there are plenty of techniques to learn from it.  It helps you to develop your drawing skills. This book is available to buy on Amazon, Waterstones and Book Depository at RRP £10.99.

    I’m completely in awe of anyone who can draw. When my granddaughter asked me to draw a chicken she thought it was a hedgehog! So it sounds like I should study Sachico’s technique!
