What Does Your Car Say About Your Driving

28 November 2019 by Eileen

Recently, I came across an article about What Does Your Car Say About Your Driving by Lease Car which I can totally relate to. I agree with them that the car you drive can reveal a lot about you as a person.

What Does Your Car Say About Your driving

My husband is car mad and watches thousands of hours of car reviews on YouTube and also on TV with Top Gear, Fifth Gear and The Grand Tour! He knows which interior styles/gadgets are a must-have for his car, including the type and colour. Now the problem is, we only have one car as both of us work from home and don’t need a car for a daily commute. We mainly use the car for personal use such as for the school run, grocery shopping, etc. Whenever we have chosen to replace our car in the past, we have always had to find some middle ground that suits both of us. I love smaller cars as they are easier to park and saves on petrol and other running costs. On the other hand, my husband prefers bigger cars as he loves the space, comfort and the type of gadgets that you can only found in a higher range. Hence we tend to go with a compromise and find a decent family car that ticks the right boxes for both of us.

Anyway, let us look at Lease Car’s survey of 1,000 UK residents asking them what type of car they believed a bad driver, an angry driver and a good-looking driver would own. One of the questions they asked was what make of car do bad drivers drive. I would agree that BMW drivers are the worst! I know a few friends who drive/driven BMWs and have sat in their cars before. What stands out most is that they seem to underestimate the size of their car and think they are invisible and they can just fly past. Also, there are always quite a few big BMWs parked outside our children’s school gate which causes a lot of traffic jams by their bad parking.

The next finding on the survey is quite interesting, which reflects on the colour of the car you drive to determine if you are a bad driver a not. According to their survey, you are most likely to be deemed a bad driver if you own a black car, with red in second at 23% and followed by white at 13%. I have owned a few black cars before this current white one so I do not agree with this finding. Perhaps more yobs drive black cars than any other colour. Personally, I think the worst is those bright pink or yellow coloured cars! If nothing else, they are just an eyesore on the road.

Looking at the survey, my white Mercedes is top on the list of ‘What brand of cars do good looking drivers own?’ lol, with 42% of their respondents who agreed that we are the best looking drivers, closely followed by Audi at 41% and BMW at 38%! Woohoo!

So what do you think about their findings? Do you agree with what they have found? There are a few more findings from the survey that a quite interesting, i.e. check out which sex is the worst driver! Surprise! Surprise! But not at all! So where do you fare on the list? Let me know in the comments below.
