To celebrate the upcoming American science fiction action film Bumblebee at the end of the year, Hasbro have launched a range of Transformers toys for their loyal fans! We were so excited to be the first few to receive the Transformers Power Charge BumbleBee and Barricade so soon after they have just launched!
First, let me show you this stunning-looking main hero Transformers Power Charge BumbleBee! This Bumblebee rests within a powerful core made of Energon that can be charged into battle by spinning the Power Charge core. It will activate epic lights, 25+ sounds and phrases. There are two modes to amp up the power. First, give the Bumblebee figure a boost by spinning the core in his chest to power him up or in his Volkswagen Beetle vehicle mode by revving the car back and forth. It requires one AA battery which is included in the figure.
Bumblebee is approximate 28 cm tall and converts between the robot and car modes (Volkswagen Beetle). The figure is well made with a mixture of hard and soft plastics and great detailing. Mr K loves to spin the core on the chest and listen to the phrases. You can activate Bumblebee to battle gear by lowering his battle mask and revealing the signature stinger sword, which was inspired by the Transformers: Bumblebee movie.
To transform him into the classic yellow Volkswagen Beetle toy car takes 17 steps! It is not very easy when you try it out the first time, especially if doing it from mid-way, we sort of messed it up! It takes a lot of patience to do it! Mr K gave up pretty quickly and I managed to transform him in 15 minutes. We both definitely need more practice! When it transforms into the car, it looks very impressive and great for display!
Next, we have this Barricade toy which converts between robot and police car modes. This comes with an Energon Igniters core that you place it into the vehicle and push down to unleash driving action. Barricade stands at 7 inches tall with great detailing all over. It takes 10 steps to convert into a car. It didn’t take Mr K long to transform but he was unable to place the core without help. Once the core is in, it unleashes the driving power! It is best to play on wooden floors rather than carpet for optimal play!
