New Collectable Smashers by Zuru

17 January 2018 by Eileen

Smashers are brand new collectable sports related toys by Zuru that have launched this January for children aged four to 12. There are over 100 wacky sports characters to collect for series 1. All you need to do is to smash it and get ready for the surprise character hidden in it! They are available in Argos, The Entertainer and other good toy retailers.

New Collectable Smashers by Zuru review

They come in a plastic ball that you have to physically ‘smash’ to get to the sports-themed collectable character inside. The “shattered” ball then doubles up as a bit of a puzzle as kids can try to put it back into a sphere! It is best is to smash your Smashers one at a time rather than all at the same time! The pieces will go everywhere and it is not easy to identify them all if you smash them together. My son was so excited with Smashers that he immediately smashed all of them. He enthusiastically scored points using the Smash Bus rather than piecing the ball pieces back together as a challenge!

Anyway, he is delighted with this new collectable and can’t wait to get more! I think smashing the ball is a great concept, especially for the children, they all love the excitement of smashing the ball and the surprise element! I did try to take a few photos of Mr K smashing the balls but it was too hard as he was like a boy possessed!

At the moment, Smashers comes in either a single pack, 3 surprise pack, 8 pack or Smash Bus. Inside the pack, it comes with a collector guide which shows you the team members’ names, number and their SP value!

Mr K loves football and Smashers is just right up his street. This Smash Bus transforms into a smash field where players are challenged to shoot their Smashers across to score! This Smash Bus allows you to store up to 50 Smashers inside and you can take the bus anywhere you want! All you need to do is to open it up and you are really to challenge your shot! Even Ms C loves to join in with Mr K and have a proper challenge among themselves.

I love the quality of the Smash Bus and each of the characters. They are well made, rubbery and should last a long time. Both my children love this and they would definitely appeal to all children. Mr K can’t wait to collect more!
