The Famous Five – The Adventure Game app is available to download at App Store now at £2.99! This also coincides with the 75th Anniversary of Enid Blyton’s Famous Five since the very first book, Five On A Treasure Island, came out.
This mystery based game is based on the much loved Famous Five book series from world renowned Enid Blyton, brought to you by award winning games developer Kuato Studios! The educational app is packed full of the positive values associated with the books, such as friendship and heroism for children aged 9 to 11.
This Famous Five – The Adventure Game app will keep my children entertained this half term where they try to solve the mysteries and create their personalised story of their adventure. If you worry that they spend too much time on the tablet, you can set the gameplay sessions for 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or unlimited. Once the session has ended, the game will be locked for one hour and an adult must unlock the game.
In this app, children get to pick to be one of the main Famous Five characters Julian, Dick, Anne and George. They are joined by their friendly dog Timmy! Do listen out for his bark while playing which gives you a clue! If your children have not yet read any of the Famous Five books, this is a great way for them to discover the characters and the stories too.
Your child can either pick a quick game or normal game. It should take them at least 15 minutes to play. Throughout the game, children can discover mysterious clues, question suspicious characters to solve the intriguing mysteries including iconic locations such as the castle ruins on Kirrin Island and Tapper’s travelling fair. They also get to solve a series of exciting mini-games designed to test memory, problem-solving and logic skills.
Once they think they know who the culprit is, they can use their token to guess. Once the mystery has been solved children can relive their adventures in a personalised storybook that tells the tale of their own game!
For dyslexic readers, there is a section within the parents corner where you can choose from accessibility options, including, OpenDyslexic font and colour overlays to help readability.
We have also received three Famous Five books: Five Go Adventuring Again, Five on a Treasure Island and Five Run Away Together. Mr K has not read them before and this will be a great time to introduce him to these books!
