Hot Wheels Track Builder Booster Kit Review

22 October 2016 by Eileen

Hot Wheels Track Builder System Power Booster Kit is another great set to build many possibilities of open system play!  The Power Booster Kit includes 35+ pieces including 2 speed loops and 2 boosters so you can boost your crash, your loops and head-to-head races!  Not only that, you can convert the packaging and other household items into another epic track!  How cool is that!  This is suitable for aged 5 and above. It requires 4 size D batteries to run the boosters which are not included.

Mr K was fascinated when he saw the booster cable from the stackable boosters TB-13.  It didn’t occur to me that we would need batteries but luckily we had some at home so we didn’t waste any time and could get on with some epic races!

The instructions provides you four different ideas to build your track. Mr K decided to build the double loop tracks by himself. He did it quite well until he went wrong with the stackable boosters. He didn’t realised that the stackable boosters are shaped like an arrow and both have to be pointing the same direction. Anyway, the tracks are easy to slide through but to get them out, you need to twist slightly to get the blue connector off the track.

Many of the items in this kit have more than one use, so kids can keep their imaginations and their tracks growing with a series of nearly endless configurations. So after we played with the first build, Mr K decided to use his starter kit to build another epic track.  He enjoyed using the booster and was very pleased with the speed of the car.

We love this kit! The materials are soft and easy to slot in. The car managed to stay in the track most of the time and it launches and travels a good distance. To keep Mr K busy this half term, he is going to build a lot of epic tracks! It is available to build from good toy retailers and Amazon at rrp £39.99.
