Captain America: Civil War Lunch Box Idea

3 September 2016 by Eileen

To celebrate the 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray, DVD release of Captain America: Civil War, which will be out on the 5th September, and with children going back-to-school, I was asked to come up with a healthy superhero back-to-school lunch box idea.

Captain America Civil War Lunchbox Idea

After considering the various facets of Captain America, I decided to concentrate the design of my lunchbox based on the colour scheme of red, blue and white. Also a small star cookie cutter ties in quite nicely and helped me to create this design.

To create this balanced lunchbox, you will need ham, bread, carrots, strawberry, raspberry, blueberries, packs of red, white, & blue jelly mix, white chocolate, red & blue coloured sprinkles and mini breadsticks. Ms C’s favourite sandwich is a ham sandwich so that’s why we used ham but you could use your favourite sandwich filling instead. Anyway, I used a star cookie cutter to cut a hole in the middle of the bread, then placed the ham in between another piece of bread before using a circle cookie cutter to cut it.

Then I mixed a pot of fruits with strawberries, raspberry and blueberries.  They look very delicious!  Next, peel the skin of the carrots before slicing them and use the star cookie cutter to cut out.

As for the jelly, I have bought the strawberry flavour but I couldn’t find any white or blue coloured jelly. So I bought almond jelly from a Chinese supermarket then I mixed some blue colouring into the almond jelly which is normally white in colour.  This took me a while to make but it turned out great!

Lastly, not forgetting to give them some treats by making these breadsticks dipped in white chocolate and blue and red sprinkles!  Melt the white chocolate and then dip the breadstick into the chocolate and sprinkle!

So this is my Captain America inspired lunchbox for Ms C!  It is easy to make and fun to eat!

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War will arrive early on Digital on 30th August whilst the 3D Blu-ray™, Blu-ray and DVD on 5th September and now viewers can join the non-stop action and pick their side—Team Cap, commanded by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), or Team Iron Man, led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).

Rogers and Stark are joined by a star-studded line-up of beloved Marvel Super Heroes, including Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine (Don Cheadle), Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), along with new recruit Scott Lang aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and joined by two new additions to the MCU: T’Challa aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

There are more than 60-minutes of thrilling, exclusive bonus material includes: an inside look at the evolution of lead characters Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, a behind-the-scenes exclusive on the making of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, never-before-seen deleted scenes and hilarious outtakes. Plus, home audiences can learn more about the latest additions to the MCU and get an exclusive, first look at Marvel’s “Doctor Strange,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch.  We can’t wait to watch it once it is out on Blu Ray!

So will you be Team Cap or Team Iron Man?
