Bop It Review

6 July 2016 by Eileen

Bop It is a super-fast reaction game that is super fun and hilarious! This is our first time playing Bop it and all of us really enjoy it! We love the concept of the game and the musical beats.  To play this game, simply pull the blue handle and select the game. There are six games to choose from (each with a solo and a multiplayer PASS IT version): Action, Action Pass It, Classic, Classic Pass It, Beat Pop and Beat Pop Pass It. We tend to play the solo action game as there are more moves and easier to play.

The Action game features the traditional commands BOP IT, TWIST IT and PULL IT with 10 new moves: answer it, comb it, cradle it, drink it, golf it, hammer it, saw it, selfie it, sing it and whip it.  It’s a lot of fun as we all try to execute the moves as quickly as possible! If you snooze, you lose!

As for the Classic game, it only includes three commands BOP IT, TWIST IT and PULL IT.  This is best to play with younger children if they would like to join in!

Finally, there is the the Beat Bop game, which gives sound-effect commands for BOP IT, TWIST IT and PULL IT. The bass drum sound means BOP IT, the low-pitched ratchet sound means TWIST IT and the whistle means PULL IT. We find this game slightly hard to hear when there’s background noise in the room.

This comes with three levels of volume: quiet, loud and blasting. We tend to leave it on blasting all the time, as we the other settings are a bit too quiet when you are frantically following the moves!

It is lightweight and comfortable to be hold by either hand.  It is suitable for aged 8 onwards and it requires 3 AAA batteries (demo batteries are included).  The device will turn itself off after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Overall we all love this and it is a great party game to get everyone to moving!  I would definitely recommend it.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
