Would I Lie to You is a board game based on the hit BBC comedy panel show. This is a game of quick thinking that calls for a cool head and a poker face. Do you think you can fool your opponents with a lie or invent a bizarre sentence that sounds more convincing than the truth?
This game is for aged 12 and above, and for two to eight players. It comes with a playing board, 75 Quick Fire Lie cards, 75 Ring of Truth cards, 100 This Is…cards, writing pad, 4 playing pieces, timer and die.
Before you start the game, you need to split into two teams and place your playing pieces at the foot of one of the ladders in the centre of the board. The other playing pieces of the same colour are used by the teams to move around the board and are initially placed on the START arrow.
We have not watch this game show before but it was not hard to pick up. We had fun inventing weird sentences for the cards.
The game has three different categories to play and landing on each one requires you to pick up the respective card.
In the Quick Fire Lie cards, you will need to invent your own answer in ten seconds time. Then read out the sentences and the choices for your opponents to guess! Sometimes it is easy to make up your own answer but sometimes it is hard as ten seconds is quite quick especially when you are under pressure!
For the Ring of Truth cards, you need to work with your team mates to make up fake answers and let your opponents choose. You will score a point if they picked your fake answers but if they pick the right one, they will get a point. Some of the questions are hilarious and bizarre!
The final category is the This Is…cards where half of the pile are LIE cards whilst the other half are TRUE cards. All the LIE cards required you to make up your answer and the TRUE cards already have the answer.
Overall we all had fun playing this game. It is hilarious and great fun to increase our general knowledge! I would definitely recommend it! This game is available to buy from Esdevium store finder or on Amazon.
