Shopping at Lyst

20 April 2016 by Eileen

Recently, I discovered an easy to use fashion shopping website – Lyst. They are a fashion tech company based in London and New York. Their website is a shopping experience unique to every user.  The more you use the platform, the more it learns about you and your shopping habits so you start to only see things you love!  In addition to making a tailored shopping experience, users can also lyst items to plan their wardrobes and wish lists and also be alerted when anything they lyst goes on sale or comes back in stock.

It is simple to sign on as it only requires your full name, email and password.  Or you could use your Facebook or Twitter account to sign up. They also have an iTunes app too. After you sign up, it will prompt you with the range of brands from Gucci to Topshop to select which is your favourite brand. By selecting the brands you would like to follow and see, it will learn about your personal taste and shopping habits.

This coming summer is my sister-in-law’s wedding and we have just found out her wedding colour theme is raspberry pink. Now is a great time to do a bit of window shopping!

Not wanting to clash with her raspberry pink theme, I am going to avoid choosing the same colour and may go for something else in the same colour family.

While browsing the website, I am able to select the price range which is very important to me as I am a Stay At Home Mum. I have to watch my pennies well! I am also able to select the outfit by availability, gender, colours, categories, sales, designers and retailers. My style is usually more High Street shops like Warehouse, Topshop and Zara and these can all be found on their site. I also like that they have plus size fashion which helps a lot, especially as I am a size 18.

So browsing through the website, I have found these outfits and accessories are potentially my favourite choices for her wedding.  I have picked these few dresses as they all look great and within my budget!

As her wedding is going to be in the summer, so I have opt for these sleeveless short dresses.  They are from Love – Wrap Cowl Front Dress, Warehouse – Belted Skater Dress and Topshop – Backless Detail Drape Dress.

As for shoes, I have opted for flat ASOS sandals and Topshop sandals.  I am still torn if I will be able to survive in these heels during the wedding or just go for comfortable flat sandals.  Lastly, I picked a red Faux leather bag from Snob Essentials as it looks big enough for me to store everything I need for the day!

So what do you think about my choices?  Also what is your advice on shoes?
