Litecup Review

21 April 2016 by Eileen

Litecup is a sippy cup and a nightlight!  This is such an innovative gadget and we are all impressed by it. Both my children love using it. Ms C even took her Litecup to sleep on her bed! Luckily, this is a non-spill cup which gives me peace of mind that I won’t need to change her sheet the next morning. It is spill proof but not 100% leak proof, so sometimes if you shake it vigorously, a few small drops of liquid might come out.

This cup is lightweight and easy to use. The cup rim supports bottle/beaker to cup transition and with its 360° valve cup edge, it means you can drink from anywhere around the rim! How good is that! Both of the kids love it as now they won’t need to find the opening to drink from! Filling the cup with their drink is easy as it has a big opening when you twist off the cap. This cup holds 330 ml of liquid but is not suitable for fizzy or hot drinks.

Washing this cup couldn’t be easier.  Simply twist off the cap and press out the valve and top.  It is not suitable to wash the cup unless you remove the light base (the lid is fine) in the dishwasher nor use it in a microwave.

Another feature of this cup is the integrated comforting nightlight which means the cup can be placed anywhere around the bed or bedside table. The nightlight comes with very clever light sensitivity.  It will turn itself off once the environment is bright. Or you can manually switch it off to save the battery life by using a coin to turn it.  As these cups are still very new, we haven’t tried changing the battery.  According to the instructions, the night-light battery and LED bulb are encased in a plastic unit or litepack that can click in or out of the base to replace the batteries.  If you accidentally drop the cup and broke the nightlight, you could buy the spare light unit to replace it.

I really like that the nightlight feature.  Now my children can reach for their cups without having to switch on their usual nightlight.  It is great for any ages from young to old.  I am thinking of getting it for my mum!  This is also great for outdoor use in the car or even camping.  I would recommend it as it is very well made, BPA Free and comes with great features.  Click the Litecup website to find out more about their products.  It comes in Frozen blue (glitter), Midnight blue (glitter), Bamboo Green, Uber Blue, Clearly Natural, Glitter Pink, Just White, Neon Green, Royal Red, Purple and Vivid Orange colours. You can buy it from Hippychick through Litecup website or Amazon.
