Learning Chinese with Easter Puzzle

15 March 2016 by Eileen 4 Comments

As a Baker Ross blogger, we are often sent great craft kits from them and this month, we have received Easter themed craft kits that are suitable for older children. Inside the box, they given us Easter puzzle, 3D bird scratch art, bird fuse bead kits, Easter cross stitch kits, golden eggs and artepatch paper.

Each kit is well packed and some kits are also great for Easter egg hunts or Easter bags. I have ordered some for my Mandarin Club to use! They are very well priced and great value. The kits are of good quality with full instructions and are easy to follow and make.

Easter Egg Jigsaw Puzzles

This kit comes with 8 plain puzzles that breaks into 8 small parts. You can either colour it in or paint it. I have used pink paint to coat them. Then after they had dried, I used felt marker pens and coloured them in.

As I like to use craft to encourage our students in our club to practise writing their Chinese characters, I have written Happy Easter (复活节快乐) in Chinese and hope the students will follow and practise writing it. Then break the puzzle apart and try to piece it back again.

3D Bird Scratch Art

This kit comes with 8 birds (3 parts), 8 pens and ribbons. Ms C loves scratching the bird to reveal the rainbow colour underneath it. After she decorated the bird, I simply placed them all together and hung it up.

Bird Fuse Bead Kits

This comes with two square templates, various colour beads with enough to make 6 birds, instructions, 3 pieces of tracing paper and a silver string. The beads were all mixed up which makes it hard to find the right colour bead you want. This time around, I didn’t spend time sorting them all out. I just placed all the beads in a dish and we picked out the colours we wanted. It comes with red, brown, white, green, lilac, purple, blue, yellow and orange colour beads. After Ms C completed the bird, I immediately used the tracing paper to iron it.

Ms C enjoyed doing this activity and has made a lovely bird to hang. This activity is great for fine motor skills.

Easter Cross Stitch Kits

There are 3 different designs inside this kit: rabbit, chick and egg. It comes with 6 different colour strings, 4 plastic needles and 5 templates. I love this kit as it not only great to learn cross stitch, it is also great for their fine motor skills. My son did struggle a lot on the cross stitch but in the end he did get it right. On the other hand, my daughter was very good at it! This Easter egg should be coloured in firstly before cross stitching otherwise it makes it hard to colour in neatly.

Do check out Baker Ross if you are looking for craft kits to entertain your children over this Easter! I would highly recommend them. They offer the best value all round with their 100% price match promise!

Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review however all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
