Happy 8th Birthday to Mr K

20 November 2015 by Eileen

Mr K is eight year old now! Time passes so quickly. I still remember how difficult he was as a baby. A lot of the sleepless nights were caused by his reflux which thankfully he grew out of.

For his birthday weekend, we went to a golf lesson at our local golf driving range on Saturday. This was Mr K’s second lesson and he is currently obsessed with it. Now his Christmas list is to own a proper set of junior golf clubs. Well, we shall see!

Ms C tagged along and she decided to have her first lesson and enjoyed it. It’s great that the club/driving range is not too far from our house and the fees are reasonable should they wish to pursue it.

Then on Sunday, we went to Water World at Stoke on Trent along with others. Even though it was quite a straight route, it was a long drive. Both children were quite bored in the car. The last time we went to Water World was over two years ago. So both children were super excited when they saw all the slides and massive water area.

They all had fun swimming and playing. Mr K and I went to explore the rapids which was great fun. We were like a shark swimming through the rapid tunnel. Shame that the outdoor pool was closed.

I was too lazy to bake Mr K a birthday cake and bought him a Star Wars cake from the supermarket instead. He was really pleased with it. Every year, instead of giving him a birthday party, we decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal with trips instead. We felt that this is more sensible as birthday parties can be quite tedious and stressful to organise and we don’t have a big family in the UK to celebrate it with him. He wanted an mp3 player for his present and even though we gave him Mr C’s old mobile (uploaded with his favourite mp3 music for him to listen to), he is very pleased with it and thankful with what he got as it has the added extra of being able to take photos and play games! I still can’t believe that he is eight years old now!

I totally agree with you about birthday parties for our kids. I prefer to do something with just the 4 of us 🙂 x
