Recently, we came across these unique Bizzy Bitz toys. They have a range of building sets for children aged 3 onwards. It was invented by Mr Alta and Mrs Rachel Fogel who have both been working with children for over 25 years. Having observed children of various ages and abilities playing with the various construction toys and based on this research, they invented a universal, totally innovative ball and socket style system, which they named Bizzy Bitz.
We have received this Bizzy Bitz 350 pieces builder set which includes square tiles, round tiles, triangles, rectangles, rods (two sizes), curves, quadrants, cogs, wheels, windows and smiley faces. The pieces comes in different shapes and sizes.
This set is suitable for children aged four to eight years. Step by step instructions are provided for five different builds. They were all colour illustrated and very easy to follow. My six year old was able to follow it and make an airplane. My son prefers to free style and made his own creations.
The pieces are brightly coloured and of various shapes. They are lightweight, with a plasticky feel and easy to grip. Ms C required some help to piece some of the parts together while Mr K is very confident using it. The ball and socket style is easy to piece together and to disassemble.
I do find the quality is not quite what I expected but overall, it is very easy to use and provides endless hours of versatile three dimensional creative play. It certainly kept my children entertained for hours. This 350 piece box would be great for play dates too as there are a good amount of pieces to build together.
