Interplay Sparkly Jewellery Review

18 October 2015 by Eileen 3 Comments

This month, I am reviewing this interesting craft box kit from Interplay called Sparkly Jewellery. This lovely craft box has everything you need to make beautiful jewellery! Ms C was so thrilled when she saw the box. She loves her jewellery, the more sparkly the better!

Inside this box, it comes with:

  • 60 x Round sparkly beads (3 colours)
  • 20 x Heart-shape sparkly beads (2 colours)
  • Over 100 colourful beads
  • 2 x Pre-cut sheets of sparkly motifs
  • 2 x Hair clips
  • 2 x Pendant blanks
  • 2 x Ring blanks
  • 6 x Self-adhesive jewels
  • Ribbon, stretch cord and adhesive dots
  • Instructions

This is suitable for ages 4 to 7 years old. Each set of different coloured sparkly beads are wrapped in individual plastic bags. There is no tray included so it is best to have a dish or tray to contain the beads. The beads are mainly purple, pink and red coloured. Most of the beads are well made and have a smooth surface with only a few that are slightly rough. The pre-cut sparkly motifs require you to stick the double sided adhesive dots. My daughter required my help with the adhesive dots as they stuck to her fingers rather than the motifs.

It comes with step-by-step illustrations and instructions which are very easy to follow. Ms C is not very confident in tying a knot so she needed plenty of my help with it.

There are two different type of beads. One with a small opening which you use with the elastic thin string and one with a bigger opening which is for threading with ribbon. You can make up to 10 sparkly jewellery pieces (necklaces, bracelets, rings and hair clips) with the materials provided. My daughter enjoyed playing with this kit. This is also great for her fine motor skill to learn how to thread the beads. I would recommend as it is good kit and value for money (£7.99).
