BubbleBum Car Booster Seat Review

31 January 2015 by Eileen 1 Comment

BubbleBum is a portable & lightweight car booster seat that you can take anywhere you go. It only weighs half a kilogram and it has a compact design that can be deflated and stored away neatly.

BubbleBum car booster seat review
Both of my children are very impressed with it and want BubbleBum as their long term car seat. As a parent, it is always a good sign when children themselves love it too. Their feedback is that the seats are very comfortable compared to their hard regular car seats. It gives them additional leg room to sit more comfortably without being squeezed into one area. It opens up the middle seat area so it gives them more space to put their bags, snacks and toys. One small downside here though is that they are now able to fight with one another because they no longer have the side wall protection of their old seats.

Before I share more of our experiences with it, lets take a look at BubbleBum itself. It is suitable for ages 4 – 11 years old (15 – 36 kgs) and up to 135 cm in height. It is made from a durable material similar to that of life vests and other lifesaving products. The cover is removable and they recommend only surface wipe.

BubbleBum come in four different colours: black, purple, neon pink and neon yellow. We have received the neon yellow and neon pink. They are both adorned with a zebra print and black lining. Unpacking the contents, as well as the deflated car booster seat, there is also a shoulder belt positioning clip and stretchy carry bag.

It is so simple to set up! Loop the shoulder belt positioning clip onto the bottom of the BubbleBum seat to secure it. Then twist open the air valve at the rear of the BubbleBum and blow until it reaches maximum capacity then twist to close. Now it is ready to use.

This is both of my children who were thrilled to give the seats a go! Once they sat on the BubbleBum, they buckle the vehicle seat belt. I had to give my 5 year old daughter a helping hand to pinch the lap belt and slot into the red side clips on either side of the seat. My 7 year old son managed to do it all by himself. Hopefully in no time, my daughter will be able to put on her seat belt independently. Both children really enjoyed their ride with the comfortable seat.

This is the video made by BubbleBum to show you how to install the shoulder belt: https://youtu.be/Ng5EmAt4jCU

I would definitely recommend BubbleBum to parents. Not only are they safe, just as importantly, the children find it comfortable too. They would be great if you three children at the back (or more for an MPV). Perfect for holidays, rental cars, taxis, coach journeys, school trips or carpooling as they are portable and lightweight. No more of those bulky hard covered booster seats that take up so much space, uncomfortable to sit and not foldable! It is reasonably priced at RRP £29.99 on their website. They are also available to buy from Halfords, Amazon and other good stores.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
