Dora And Friends Post Twitter Party

4 November 2014 by Eileen

This Monday, we had a hectic day. After picking the children up from school, we quickly got everyone in for the Dora And Friends Twitter party.

Fortunately I had already prepared all the party stuff beforehand, with a lot sandwiches and finger foods! Before we sat everyone down, they were all given an admittance ticket and walked on the red carpet.

We then started off the first activity to introduce Dora and her friends to the children. Next, they all had to listen carefully for each individual characters’ facts in the show. All children were really concentrating and didn’t make a noise. But there was a reason for that – they knew they would get one lollipop for each question they answered correctly! They didn’t do too badly and managed to guess 8 questions out of 10!

Next we did colouring and designed cupcakes. There were three different designs of colouring sheets to choose from. After they each finished colouring, they had their turn to design the cupcake to take home.

We then took a break for tea as everyone was very hungry. At 5 pm, everyone got seated and was handed a box of popcorn! They were all very happy watching and munching at the same time! I had to top up the children’s popcorn twice!

Then we moved on to our piñata. This is my second time having a piñata at home. I can never understand why the piñata is made from such hard cardboard! Each kids had three hits and three turns. No one managed to tear it apart. So we ended up asking all the children to rip it up! This sounded like a good idea at the time, but I hadn’t factored in children’s abilities to tear things into the tiniest pieces. It looked like a bomb had gone off in the room – there was cardboard shrapnel everywhere! Each of them grabbed the goodies and quickly pop it in their goody bag!

Finally, we had a game of Pass the Parcel. This was all the children’s favourite and they had been eagerly waiting for this! They were all so excited to unwrap the parcel. Inside each layer, there was a clue card. They didn’t manage to ask all the clues but didn’t did too badly! They all had a fantastic time! Thanks to Nick Jr and MumUK TV.

It sounds like you had a great party. I ended up getting the scissors to the pinata, it took so long!

Looks like a fun party, shame the pinata was so hard to bash but at least they had fun ripping it apart! lol
