Recently, we reviewed the Creative Cube & Pyramid set by Science4you. Do take a look if you didn’t see it first time around. We are lucky to represent Science4you and in the next two months, I will blog about two of their fantastic Science kits.
This month, we are reviewing this Solar Plane kit. Inside this box, it comes with a 24-page coloured book providing detailed instructions and scientific information, engine with solar panel and 24 wooden pieces. This kit is suitable for 6 years old and above.
The book is very detailed and comes with a lot of information that covers solar energy and how it works. It also explain in details the different types of solar vehicles. Mr K was very interested to learn about it but it wasn’t very easy for him to understand the concepts. I believe in a year or two, he will be picking up this book to read the details by himself.
The wooden pieces are very easy to slide off the frame. It does require adult help to slide the solar panel into the wooden pieces. Once it is done, the rest are quite easy to fix. If you prefer to colour the plane, you should do it before you fix all the pieces together. Then leave the plane near the sunlight and see the propeller spin!
Mr K loves the plane. When the propeller isn’t moving, he uses it as a model plane to pretend he is flying it. This is a great kit for children who love to build. It also encourages them to learn through playing and helps them with creativity thinking.
Here is a video made by Science4you on how to build the plane and see how it work! https://youtu.be/xC1qLw4sC5E
Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
