Halloween Monster Warburtons

30 October 2014 by Eileen

This half term has come thick and fast and we are already past hump day! To keep us busy this half term, we did a Halloween challenge with Warburtons! We have received a range of Warburtons goodies along with some spooky Halloween themed props to get both children to be as creative as possible!

As you can imagine, the kids don’t need much encouragement to be creative with their foods. We have previously learnt how to make monster sandwiches, rocket and spaceship via Actimel and a ladybird Belvita biscuit with Primula too.

Yesterday morning, we all woke up very early and set up the table full of delicious foods, vegetables and seasoning. Our selection included frankfurter sausages, smoked ham, cucumber, cheese, sweet corn, tomato sauce, tortillas and Warburtons Half & Half Toastie, Rolls and Thins.

Halloween Monster Warburtons Sandwich

Mr K is confident using a small knife to cut his bread whereas Ms C helped me to decorate the bread. Firstly, we toasted the bread and Ms C helped me to add grated cheese onto the toast. I then added the sliced frankfurters and chocolate chips as the mummy toast’s eye! This is our mummy’s toast!

Next is this Halloween Monster roll. We toasted the roll with melted cheese and add sliced cucumbers with tortillas as tongue and ears. We then added sweetcorn and tomato sauce to look like bloody teeth. We cover the top roll and added cucumber and sliced frankfurters on top. We finished it off by securing the eyes with two red pins.

Finally, we made this scary looking Jack-O-Lantern with the Warburtons thins. In between the bread thins are ham and sliced cucumbers, then we chopped the sides off to the shape of a pumpkin. We then added triangular cut frankfurters with sweetcorn and secured it with two yellow pins.

These are very easy to make with children and my children had a lot of fun making them and enjoyed eating their masterpieces. The Half & Half breads are made from white and wholemeal which is very healthy and easy to eat! I hope I have inspired a few of you to get creative and get your children involved! Do check out Warburtons Facebook page for more news!

Disclosure: We have received the products to do this challenge.  We have received the Arthur Price My Deli Slate for display.  They are available to buy online, good retailer shops or Amazon. We have included an Amazon affiliate link to the product. If you click on this and buy, we may earn a small commission but at no additional cost to you.
