Summer Activities A – Z: O

24 September 2014 by Eileen

This summer we have been very busy with a lot of activities including crafts and sports! For the letter O, we did a few summer activities while we were in Singapore!

O for Orange Sponge Cake

In Singapore, most of the bakeries sells sponge cakes in different flavours from green tea to coffee. Of course, while we were there, we tried most of the sponge cake. My children and I love Singapore cakes as they are very light and fluffy. They are different to cakes here in Britain which tend to be more dense and rich.

O for Orange T-shirt

We had a family photo shoot and my sister wanted all of us to wear orange colour. I must admit it is not my favourite colour for clothing as I don’t look good in it. I told my husband that I looked like a ‘Food Court’ aunty (selling hot food) in Singapore.

These are a few photos I took while they were taking photos by the professional photographer.

O for Origami

Yes, I love Origami, partly from the influence of Japan and Origami is simply a great craft that anyone can enjoy! My children are not into it yet as they find it difficult but they are able to fold Origami boats. Often people write their dream or maybe a message to their loved one on a paper boat and lets them floats away, hoping their dream or loved one will see their message.

Have you seen my chopstick Origami? They are awesome tools as they act like a chopstick stand!

I also made a ladybird which I will be publishing soon with video tutorial!

That’s all from us for now but check back for the letter P!
