The Lego Movie DVD Review

7 September 2014 by Eileen

Long before the Lego Movie was released at the cinema, my children had gotten wind of it and kept asking me when I could take them to the cinema to watch it! So as soon as it was released, I took them both to watch on opening weekend to stop their whining. Unsurprisingly, they both loved it and wanted to watch it again!

the Lego Movie Review

Luckily, soon they forgot about it! Then last month, while flying to Singapore, the in-flight entertainment was showing The Lego Movie! Both children watched it at least twice on the way there and back! It reminded them how much they loved it and was now asking me to buy them the DVD.

Luckily, we were sent this DVD for review! Without fail, they watched it again and this time with Mr C who had not watched it before! This was probably the kids’ sixth or seventh time watching it and they still love it! The storyline is fabulous and the music is very catchy!

The story is set in the Lego universe. The wizard Vitruvius tries to stop a super-weapon called the Kragle from the evil Lord Business. He fails to do so and makes up a prophesy that a person called “the Special” will find the Piece of Resistance capable of stopping the Kragle.

One day, an ordinary construction worker named Emmet Brickowski comes across a woman named Wyldstyle, who searches for something. When he investigates, he falls into a hole and finds the Piece of Resistance.   So after he touch the piece, he passes out and is taken by Bad Cop, Business’ lieutenant. They want to kill Emmet but Wyldstyle comes to the rescue and takes him to Vitruvius. They gather at the council of Master Builders but Bad Cop comes and captures everyone. Emmet devises a team plan to infiltrate Business’ headquarters and disarm the Kragle. However, he and his friends were captured and Vitruvius was killed by Lord Business. Before Vitruvius dies, he reveals he made up the prophecy. The story goes on and at the end, Emmet finds himself in the real world. I will let you watch the rest of the movie and let you find out for yourself!

I have to say that the storyline is awesome, just like their song! Everything is awesome! I would highly recommend it and I can’t wait for the next movie which is scheduled for 2017! It is a great family show and inside this DVD, it also comes with a digital copy where you can stream or download it!

Disclosure: We have received this sample from Suppose for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

My son loves this too and insisted I watch it when it came on DVD. I have to admit to quite enjoying it myself!
