Working through the alphabet for the summer activities, we have been doing the letter C. We had been working hard cleaning the house and car, so we had quite a few naughty Cs.
C for Cake
We baked a premix sponge cake as a treat. Baking is always one of the things I love to do with my children as it is a life skill that they should learn. I taught them to open the fan assisted oven and described how it works.
C for Car
Our car needs a lot of TLC. It had been neglected for a long period of time and we finally bought some car shampoo from B&Q.
C for Card Craft
We made cards for school. We had the secret garden fingerprint friends from meadow. Look out for our review soon.
C for Carrots
I got my little helper Mr K to wash carrots and potatoes for lunch. Carrots have lots of health benefits.
At bedtime, we read two books about Carrots too: Lottie and Dottie sow carrots and The Carrot Cake Catastrophe.
C for Christmas and Christmas List
I know it is a bit too early! I asked the children to think of a word and this is what they thought of. So I taught them to write Christmas and at the same time to write a list. Ms C is not great at her words, so she choose to draw her list while Mr K is very confident in his reading and writing. Amusingly, Mr K wrote: “santer if I ever met you, I would never bilyivet. Heart.”; (Santa, if I ever meet you, I would never believe you. Love.) This is an example of one of those things children do with their naivety and nonsense that cheers you up no end!
C for Chocolate Cream Éclair and Cone
They had a little treat after all the hard work! Ms C is a very strange girl. She does not like to eat ice cream but just loves to eat the cone!
C for Cleaning
Yes, cleaning! I always make sure I get both children to do housework around the house. They have to learn how to look after the house. It is time for them to pay their dues!
C for Crisps
Earlier this year, Walkers launched the ‘Do Us A Flavour’ campaign when they challenged crisp lovers around the country to suggest a brand new flavour for the chance to win £1million. The six chosen flavours are; Sizzling Steak Fajita, Chip Shop Chicken Curry, Pulled Pork in a Sticky BBQ Sauce, Ranch Raccoon, Cheesy Beans on Toast and Hot Dog with Tomato Ketchup.
I have to say Ranch Raccoon is my flavour! The name does not sound like a snack at all but it is very tasty! Love the flavour. I would definitely vote for it! Have you tried them all? What do you think of them?
It’s now up to the public to vote and decide which one deserves to win the finalist a whopping £1million. The new flavours will sit alongside traditional Walkers favourites such as Cheese & Onion, Prawn Cocktail and Salt & Vinegar until October 2014, when the overall winner of the public vote will be announced.
Off to think of what we are going to do for the letter D now!
