Bio Persil Small and Mighty Review

13 April 2014 by Eileen

It seems my children’s clothing are a magnet for paint, ink, food or mud.  Mr K is the main culprit.  Yesterday, he and his friend were play fighting and rolling around the field and came back home very muddy indeed.  Luckily, we had the Persil solution to put to the test.

bio Persil

Swapping to Persil’s liquid solution, we instantly noticed the fresh laundry smell after the wash.  Our noses have become accustomed to our usual Fairy laundry powder and so maybe it’s a good time to swap our usual laundry product as I miss those strong laundry smells!

We were sent a Persil kit with small pots of ink, paint, juice and chocolate to test.  So I got Ms C to use these to make a mess on one of Mr K’s old t-shirts.

persil dirt tshirtThis new and improved Persil small and mighty comes with a Stain Eraser Ball – that can also be used as a pre-treater, which guarantees better stain removal even in a quick wash, like dried-in Bolognese, blackberry fruit and grass stains.  Letting kids get active and make a mess has never been easier as Persil small and mighty has all the expert cleaning power you need in one product to remove the toughest stains – so much so that it won Product of the Year 2014.

This new multifunctional bottle design come with an easy-to-open flip top lid and spout for mess-free pouring.  At the heart of the bottle is the unique multifunctional Stain Eraser Ball.  Not only is it perfect for measuring exact dosages but it also helps you pre-treat tough stains directly using the Stain Eraser Ball’s dimpled surface.  Simply ‘Pop’ the Stain Eraser Ball out of the bottle, ‘Pour’ the liquid detergent directly on to the stain and ‘Rub’ the stain with the Eraser Ball’s dimpled surface, before your main wash.

This is Ms C rubbing the detergent onto the clothing with the eraser ball.

Persil mighty messyAfter the pre-treat, I noticed that there was an immediate reduction of the stains but the ink mark was still very much visible.  I popped it into the washing machine for a normal wash along with other laundry.  Afterwards, the ink marks were slightly visible as you can see the patch on the t-shirt.  As for the other stains, they were all gone.  So far, I am quite impressed with the result but not totally convinced it will wash away stubborn stains like ink.  I would use the detergent again based on the design of the bottle spout and the fresh smell of the laundry each time I use it.  So why not take up the challenge and test it yourself!

persil clean tshirtThe Persil small & mighty comes in 4 sizes: 15, 25, 40 and 60 wash packs, and is made from packaging that can be recycled (where facilities exist).

that is interesting, and I have tried Persil just not as a pre treater.

Wow. I use Persil Small & Mighty when it’s on offer, and I knew it was good, but that’s a brilliant test. Incredibly impressive.
I know you Eileen – I bet he was only very slightly dusty and you were horrified!
