Continental Luxury Easter by Thorntons

8 March 2014 by Eileen

When I first looked at this Thorntons Continental Luxury Easter, I kept wondering why it is so expensive.  It looked like a very well decorated Easter egg but nothing special.  Then I looked carefully into the box, and noticed that in fact it also comes with 18 delicious chocolates!  How could I miss that!

Both my children’s eyes were like a hawk and immediately demanded me to open it as they would love to have chocolate for their pudding!  Nothing like a bit of incentive to get them to eat their dinner!

This lovely huge hollow Easter egg is made from milk chocolate, with dark chocolate and pink coloured decoration on the front.  It didn’t take us long to crack it open.  Mr K was feeling so excited to be the first to crack the egg!

Look at his face!

Every single bite into the chocolate was scrumptious!  I love the level of sweetness.  The chocolate melts in your mouth and it is very chocolaty.  We love this Easter egg!  I think this is one of the best Easter eggs we’ve ever had.  I love the quality of chocolate.

This also comes with a well presented 18 piece box of chocolate hidden under the Easter egg.  Let’s just say these are reserved for mummy and daddy only.

Inside this box, there are a mix of milk, white and dark chocolates:

  • 1 Alpini
  • 1 Granache Au Marc De Champagne
  • 1 Valencia
  • 2 Vanille Truffle
  • 2 Viennese Truffle
  • 2 Hazelnut Slice
  • 2 Cappuccino
  • 2 Cherry Truffle
  • 1 Diplomat
  • 1 Chocolat Riche
  • 1 Mousse Au Chocolat
  • 2 Sicilian Lemon Mousse

I am a big fan of milk chocolate so my favourites are Chocolat Riche, Mousse Au Chocolat, Cappuccino and Hazelnut Slice!  They are very rich and of course delicious.  Mr C had to have all the dark chocolates as I had finished all the milk chocolates!

You can get this online via Thorntons or just pop to their local shop to get it.

So what are your planning this Easter?  How about treating yourself with a luxury chocolate egg!
