One stop cosy night in

3 March 2014 by Eileen

It is not very often we have a cosy night in together but when we do, it’s nice to get a few treats.  Instead of getting our stuff from our local Lichfield Debenhams store (read here about two fellow bloggers and me attended our local store VIP event), I now have the comfort of ordering a list of items online from Debenhams.

We don’t have babysitters so it’s not often we have a real cosy night together with just the two of us. For tonight, both children are upstairs asleep.

To set the mood, we had Fresh Cut Rose Yankee Candle to fill the room with this strong rose aroma.  I also got a red Essie nail polish for me.  Then, we furnished with this Jasper Conran Cushions.  This navy cushion has a white spotted pattern on a textured fabric and a plain navy back for an understated style.  The material is very unique and comfortable to cuddle.  This is my children and I having a cosy cuddle, taken earlier in the day.

I got Mr C a bottle of Barefoot Shiraz which had a lot of great reviews.  To accompany his wine, he had some cheese and crackers.  He loves red wine and thought this Barefoot Shiraz was very plummy  and particularly delicious.  He says he will buy this again, so that’s a good thumbs.

As for me, I had this gorgeous 1.2 litre stainless teapots with a large in-built mesh filter inside.  For this cosy night in, I brewed a Teapigs which comes with a bag but this teapot is great for a brew using loose tea leaves.  I also love the protective black plastic handle which feels comfortable and allows you to hold the hot teapot safely.

A cosy night in is not complete without a good movie.  I got Silver Linings Playbook which had won an Oscar for best leading actress and had 62 other wins!  It was highly recommended.  The first part of the film involved a lot of screaming and shouting and it kind of put me off the film as I thought it was a romantic comedy.  After watching it for a while though, you get drawn into the story by the two strong lead characters.  The story sends a great message about finding a strategy and looking for a silver lining to every event, and is uplifting.  Both the characters are phenomenal.  It is not your standard ‘rom-com’ and for me this is what I particularly enjoyed about the film.

Thanks to Debenhams for providing us a great cosy night in.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

I love Debenhams but it is too easy to spend a fortune online! Looks like you got some lovely bits to have a great night together.

Sounds like you had a lovely night in together. We’re like you and don’t have babysitters so it’s nice to make the effort and have something special for a night in.

what a nice pack of goodies, sometimes I would like a night in. I cant remember the last time it happened though as I spend my evenings working or taking my son to his clubs!

What a fab night in you had! Candles, wine and cheese, and a great DVD would be a lovely way to spend the evening.
