Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard Review

25 March 2014 by Eileen

Having a keyboard is always very useful if you have a small screen like a phone or mini iPad.  I have always wanted a keyboard for my iPad too as the keyboard tends to fill up half of the screen and most of the time, I am not be able to scroll up to see what is covered by it.

Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard Review
MyTrendPhone is an online retailer that sells mobile phone and tablet accessories, as well as phones, laptops, tablets etc.  They kindly offered to send me this Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard.  This is for iPhone, iPad, smartphones and tablet PCs.  The keyboard is in a US layout.  However, my iPad is in a UK layout.  So when I tried to key in # (shift and 3), it gave me a £ instead.  After trying all the buttons, I found that I have to use Alt and 3 to get a #.

I love that the keyboard is very compact and portable and comes with a travel bag.  It also comes with a detachable stand/holder and a USB cable (about 1m long).

Foldable Bluetooth keyboard review

The lightweight detachable stand/holder comes with three different viewing angles.  It is perfect for phones but not suitable for tablets.  I tried it with the iPad and it was not able to withstand the weight.

It is quite easy to set it up the Bluetooth.  Once I turn on the iPad Bluetooth, it asks me to key in the four digital code and within seconds it is set up.

It mention that the keyboard would last for 30 days (at normal usage of 8 hours per day).  So far it has been very efficient.  The keyboard will turn the Bluetooth off if you don’t use it for a short period of time.  To turn it back on, just press the connect button and the keyboard works within second.  I had used the USB cable to charge the keyboard (red light will come on the keyboard).  I find it quite disappointing that the cable head is slightly exposed.

The size of each button is a good size and I find it easy to navigate.  I find the keyboard moves around when it is on a smooth surface and it tends to curve inwards when I key in the buttons around the middle.

Overall, I am very happy with the keyboard as it is very efficient, portable and compact.  I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

That looks fab, I could definitely do with one for my tablet.

This looks like something I need for my tablet, and would be very useful for when we go away as I struggle with the onscreen keyboard

This looks like a really useful thing to have. I could do with one to use with my phone.
