What did we do today?

14 December 2013 by Eileen

Yesterday, I received a very special and unique Warburtons’s advent calender. It never occurred to me that we would ever see anything other than candles (Yankee candle) or the more usual chocolate (Snapajack Chocolate advent calender). Thanks to Warburtonsuk. It’s an instant hit for us as we’re big fans of Warburtons. In the calendar, there were crumpets, pancakes, Asian Fusion Turkey wrap, toasties and sandwich thins.

This is what we made today! We stir fried some chicken with salt and pepper and later added mayonnaise for chicken mayo sandwiches for the children. As for us, we cooked the chicken with red piquanté pepper and added mayo in the wrap and sandwich thins. They tastes gorgeous! Simple and quick recipes!

After breakfast, we made Skylanders SWAP Force baubles from the kit. They are extra special for Mr K as Skylanders are his favourite!  This kit comes with the baubles, stickers and string. Both children were so happy to stick and draw their own Christmas themes on the baubles. Thanks to the Skylanders Team!

Later, we all went out for a ride on their new Y Fliker Junior scooter from Y Volution to post Christmas cards to our neighbours and via the postbox too! Unfortunately, due to irresponsible dog owners, Mr K fell off the scooter and landed on dog poo. Mr C also managed to tread on it too. So when they came home, the poo on his shoes ruined the doormat! It was a nightmare! We had to throw away the whole mat. These dog owners are so irresponsible to leave their dog poos on the pavement. Lichfield Council had posters on many street lampposts to remind people to pick up their poo or face a £1000 fine. It seems that doesn’t work! Why can’t they bring a bag out and clean it up? Make it a better place to live in! This is disgusting and disgraceful!

After that eventful afternoon, we came home and listening to Zeamu music to relax.  I received this from our Bloggers Night In. It contains 14 songs. It is sang by different children artists. The music is very easy to listen and the lyrics are beautifully written and it is all about school, friendships, love, teen and teenage. How did we end our day? We watched a film with a big bowl of popcorn! That is a perfect day in.

Disclosure: We received the samples for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

I love those sandwich thins – could eat a whole pack to myself, especially toasted! Thanks for linking up to #recipeoftheweek. Have Pinned and tweeted this post and there’s a fresh linky live now 🙂

what a shame that the scooter ride ended in a poosaster. I hate that some dog owners ruin it for kids. We have similar problems on our estate with a few irresponsible owners putting children’s health at risk by not cleaning up after their dogs. (Most owners are very good, its just a handful, but it only takes one to make a nasty mess)

Apart from the poo incident, it sounds like a great family day

Know what you mean about poop, people let their dogs go everywhere on the path to school – drives me mad. We’ve had Zeamu on the car this weekend – rather catchy

It sounds like you had a whole day of family fun together. I love the scooters they look great fun, as you say it’s such a shame about the irresponsible dog owners not cleaning up after their dogs. What a great advent calender – so very different and something for all the family. Thanks for linking up and sharing your family fun with Country Kids.
