Mattessons Double Dippers

29 November 2013 by Eileen 2 Comments

Sometimes it is hard to balance hectic family lives. My day starts with getting both children to have their breakfast and getting them dressed ready for school. Next I have to battle through rush hour traffic to drive them to school. Their school is 3 miles away in another town and driving through the main road can be very stressful at times! When I reach home, I will need to wash, cook and do shopping.  Beside that I have to drive them to clubs or their extra curricular activities. It can be so busy that I miss my lunch and by 3 – 4 pm being the time of day I am most likely to reach for the snacks like chocolate, crisps or cake!

Mattessons Double Dippers

There is growing consumer demand for healthier alternatives to junk food – snacks with more nutritional value. Hence, Mattessons Double Dippers have been created to satisfy this demand. They are the perfect snack to tide you over – high protein and full of flavour and taste. They are 100% chicken breast and less than 190 calories per pack. They offer a healthy, tasty alternative to the average snack. Each snack contains marinated chunks of chicken breast (natural, not processed) and two dips (one creamy and one crunchy). There are four flavour variants: Classic, Thai, Italian and Tikka.  The RSP is £1.59 and they are available now, in Asda and Tesco.

We have tried the Thai, Italian and Tikka flavours. When pulling the foil, do it slowly otherwise the crunchy crumb may fly out! The mini chunks of chicken breast allow you to dip into the side pot of sauce before the toasted crumb crunch. We all enjoyed dipping the sauce. Both of my children were not keen on the crumb. I personally love it. It makes the snack more interesting. It is a small portion to tide us over to our main meal.

I think the RSP £1.59 is very reasonable and I would buy them again for emergency snacks like today! I didn’t have time to cook a full meal, I let them each have a packet plus instant noodle for their tea. Also they are a great alternative to put in children’s lunch boxes too.
