Me and my Bubbaroo Joey Swag

5 July 2013 by Eileen

Many parents will have heard about Sudden Infants Death Syndrome (SIDS). To reduce the risk, babies should sleep with their face uncovered (no duvets, doonas, pillows, lambs wool, bumpers or soft toys). Personally, I think having a baby in the sleeping bag will reduce the risk. Hence, Mr K has been using his sleeping bag since he was three months old and even now he is still loves to wear his sleeping bag.  Sleeping in a sleeping bag makes him feel very secure and keeps him warm at all times. He’ll wear his sleeping bag through all seasons and we can only prise it off him during the hottest summer evenings (read: rarely!).

It is only recently I came across Bubbaroo through Twitter. Bubbaroo was born when founder Nicole Casey decided to design her own range of functional and stylish sleepwear after trying to find a suitable product to swaddle her first child Jacob. Currently Bubbaroo’s range includes the Joey Pouch Swaddling Bag, Joey Swag Sleep Bag Range, Bubbaroo Blankie, Joey Plush Toy and Baby Face washers.

Bubbaroo Joey Swag

Mr K is using the Bubbaroo Joey Swag Medium weight for 3 to 6 years. It can be used all year round. The products come in four colours: Delicate Pink, Mystic Blue, Mocha and White with Stone binding. There are four different weights/TOGs: Light 0.5 TOG, Medium 1.0 TOG, Heavy 2.5 TOG and Extra Heavy weight 3.5 TOG.  In four different sizes: Up to 6 months, 6 – 18 months, 18 – 36 months and 3 – 6 years. It is made from 100% cotton and is comfortable to wear.  He finds it easy to zip up and he loves that there is plenty of leg room.  He is about 105 cm and the maximum length of the sleeping bag is 120 cm long.

The sleeping bag is well made and stitched together. I love the texture of the cloth. It is very smooth and comfortable. The bag is at a right size, with plenty of room and yet very snug.  At the back of the zip, there is a lining to prevent it catching the children’s clothing. This bag is suitable for travel systems as there is velcro on the back and double pull tab zippers to fit the seat belt through. This will be useful for young children on long car trips. Overall, we love the material, design and the colour and it is perfect for Mr K. It was beautifully packed in a box that is ready to give as gift.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
