I am not a copycat! is a book written by Ann Bonwill and illustrated by Simon Rickerty. The book is suitable for ages 2 to 6. It was released on 3rd January 2013 and published by Oxford University Press. It is hardback containing about 32 pages. The font is unique, simple and easy to read by young school children. Each page is beautifully illustrated especially the hippo (Hugo) and bird (Bella) are so cute.
The story describes Hugo the Hippo who wants to be unique but he is annoyed when his friend Bella the bird copies all his moves. Bella even follows Hugo swimming and copies each move at the pool. Another hippo and bird saw them do their synchronized swimming and were very excited and took a photo of them. They were so happy that they went to the ice cream parlour to celebrate.
I enjoyed listening to the story read to me by my mummy. It took me a couple of times for my mum to explain the story before I understood it teaches us teamwork and fun with sharing and to be different.I would rate this book 4 stars out of 5. It is an enjoyable book with cute illustrations.
