Greeky Love Friday meal

21 February 2013 by Eileen

The Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt is teaming up with the Foodies100 to challenge you to come up with a heavenly recipe that would even tickle Aphrodite’s taste buds – Greeky! You just need to incorporate any of the four divine, honey-infused flavours of Greek Gods in an original, love-inspired recipe for two people.  The luxurious and indulgent yoghurt are available in Honey, Honey & Vanilla, Honey & Clementine and Honey & Strawberry.

Greek Gods yoghurt are heavenly treats which promise to deliver ‘the yoghurt you were destined for’. The four delicious flavours are tantalisingly rich and creamy, with fewer calories than other traditional luxury dairy products – they’re a great alternative to cream or ice cream! You could create a dessert to die for or add to a divine savoury dish. Here is my entry for the Foodies100 competition.

Greek Gods yoghurt

This is a quick and simple dish to make as it only took me 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook.

Ingredients:

  • Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt in Honey
  • Chives (Fresh and Chopped)
  • Olives (Mixed varieties)
  • Lemon
  • Long Beans
  • Broccoli
  • Fish
  • Prawn
  • Pepper & Salt (Optional)

How to make:

Instead of tartare sauce, I replaced it with Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt in honey.  Add a bit of lemon juice, olives (finely chopped), chives and mix well. Serve it in a ramekin.

As a low carb meal alternative, I chose to have an a side dish of prawn cocktails but you could also prepare this meal with new potatoes. Put the prawns (cooked), chives, a bit of lemon juice and mix with Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt in honey. Serve it in a ramekin.

Instead of cooking my own fish, I used a frozen fish. While the fish was cooking in the oven, I chopped and boiled the vegetables.

I didn’t add any seasoning as it was really tasty. By replace tartare sauce with Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt in honey, it has a fewer calories less than other traditional luxury dairy products which means you are allowed to have dessert! The yoghurt has a very smooth texture and overall it was tasty licking good! We really enjoyed our unusual meal!

Disclosure: We were given a tub of Greek Gods Greek-style yoghurt in honey to make this love meal using my own recipe for this Foodies100 competition.
