Mummy, I want your car!

30 January 2013 by Eileen

My son always comes out with endless questions and answers. He loves to talk non-stop and sometimes it can be really funny. Sometimes I wish that I could tape the whole conservation down and play it back when he is older.

This afternoon, while I was driving back from swimming lesson, my son asked me a question, “Mummy, when you die, can I have your car?”. “What?”, I replied in a surprised voice. I was thinking to myself that maybe he, at five years old, is already after inheritance.  Who taught him that things get passed down?

Mummy, I want your car!

So I asked him, “why can’t you earn your own money and buy yourself a new car?”.  He thinks for a while and replies that he doesn’t think he can earn enough money to buy a car and he had no money with him at all. So I encouraged him to study hard and get a good job when he is older. Then he told me he wants to be like his dad to be an office worker. He will go to London and find a job there as London is a very interesting place to stay. Oh bless! What has he been thinking?

I can’t believe how my five year old has grown up so fast to understand life.  How I wish he can be as innocent as possible. Mummy loves Mr K! What has your child been telling you today?

yes you sometimes wonder where theses ideas come from. Fifi use to rabbit non stop in the car, but seems to have outgrown that phase, but Bob does it now and its quite funny as she asks him to be quiet!!

Hello!

Welcome to ET Speaks From Home!

Hi, I’m Eileen — a mum of two teenagers, aged 18 and 16, and a passionate lifestyle blogger sharing snippets of family life, creativity, and culture since May 2012. My daughter lives with visual impairment, and our journey together has shaped much of the heart behind this blog.

What started as a small space to document family memories has grown into a vibrant corner of the internet where I share my love for cooking, crafting, DIY projects, Chinese culture, parenting, and honest product and YouTube reviews. Whether I’m creating festive crafts, exploring Chinese traditions, or trying out new recipes, I hope to inspire others through everyday moments from home.

Over the years, ET Speaks From Home has been recognised by several parenting and blogging communities, including:
