Personalised Notebooks

Ever since I started blogging about food and coupled with getting old (bad memory), I have so many things to remember that I have to use a notebook to jot down all the recipes I have adapted.  Following recipes from cookbooks does not always have to be literally followed – sometimes I swap them with different ingredients to suit my family!  Having a notebook is very essential and critical. Having my own secret book will make the recipes extra special.

Look at my Scotch Magic Tape Dispenser Dog!

I am an animal lover and especially love dogs!  Scotch has launched a simple and quirky design that will put a smile on any animal lover’s face with its innovative twist on the traditional tape dispenser. It is a dispenser dog! I’m totally in love with this design. It is made from plastic and the cover comes off nice and easily for replacing the tape. I love the red bowl where I am able to put paper clips, pins, blu-tac etc.

Take Miffy back to school

It is quite scary that in few weeks time, my little girl Ms C is going to attend primary school. I am getting mentally prepared to sort out their stationary before the school starts! I am pleased to come across Miffy through Twitter and fellow bloggers. As many may know, Miffy has been around for more than 60 years and currently Miffy merchandise is sold across 5 continents, there is a TV series and recently a movie.

Baby Announcement with PaperShaker

Recently, my sister gave birth to two gorgeous baby boys and I would like to take this chance to make her a baby announcement card. PaperShaker has it all! They have Baby Announcement and Baby Thank You cards, Kids/Adult party invitations and Wedding stationery. In Baby Announcement, there are so many to choose from and after spending 15 minutes looking at them all. I finally narrow them down to a few by filtering by gender, colour and photo etc.  This is what the final product looks like:

My Big Family School Year Diary 2013 – 2014

Both of my children will be at school in September, starting reception and Year 1, and they already have a lot of friend’s/classmate’s birthday parties, activities and there are appointments too.  This Big Family School Year Diary has come just in time!  With only 3 days left until August, it is time to get organised.  This book is dated for 13 months from 1st August 2013 through to the 31st August 2014.

BrainBox Games Colour and Learn

Recently, we reviewed the BrainBox games My First Picture and ABC. Honestly, I did not know that they also have colouring books. I was given these two Colour and Learn Animals and Teddy Bears books for review. It is suitable for age 5 onwards. Each book has 24 tear out pictures. They are not just an original colouring book. They are educational and each picture is vividly  imaginative. The animals are not the most realistic you will ever see, but this may be to allow for easier colouring.

Fizzy Milk Jelly website

Being a SAHM, wife and mummy blogger, I find myself juggling all my daily tasks.  It means getting the balance right and remembering everything. I find that I have to make note on the Calendar in really small writing that may not make sense if you read it. Sometimes, I have messed up and missed birthdays and social events.

Hello!

Welcome to ET Speaks From Home!

Hi, I’m Eileen — a mum of two teenagers, aged 18 and 17, and a passionate lifestyle blogger sharing snippets of family life, creativity, and culture since May 2012. My daughter lives with visual impairment, and our journey together has shaped much of the heart behind this blog.

What started as a small space to document family memories has grown into a vibrant corner of the internet where I share my love for cooking, crafting, DIY projects, Chinese culture, parenting, and honest product and YouTube reviews. Whether I’m creating festive crafts, exploring Chinese traditions, or trying out new recipes, I hope to inspire others through everyday moments from home.

Over the years, ET Speaks From Home has been recognised by several parenting and blogging communities, including:

* Top 20 UK Parent Blogs (2020)
* Tots100 Top 20 Blog on Twitter (2014)
* Tots100 Top Mummy Vloggers (2015)
* Tots100 Top 20 Vloggers (2016)
* Shortlisted for the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards (BiBs), Video Category (2014)
