Honda Jazz 1.4 EX 5 Door Automatic

After two months of driving, I’ve really fallen in love with this Honda Jazz car.  It is small but mighty. One of the really nice features is the panoramic glass roof. It makes the car feel much roomier inside. The children love it as they can see the raindrops, birds flying across etc. Bad point is when birds decide to use your car for target practise.

It’s a 1.4l petrol engine. It is quite a change in pace from our previous car which was a 1.9l turbo diesel. I guess that aspect of the new car took the longest to adjust to. Getting away at a junction now needs a heavier foot and more revs! In general, the engine is really quiet that sometimes while waiting at the traffic lights, I thought I had stalled the car! Also, my husband doesn’t hear us arriving home!Here’s the dashboard:

Another of the nice features in our model are auto wipers, which can be adjusted to be more or less sensitive, and auto lights.  You still need some manual control now and again, like when there’s some water droplets on the windscreen as you start driving, the wipers won’t detect it, and sometimes when it’s bright but raining heavily, the lights won’t come on yet, but it feels safer to have some lights on.The cruise control came in really handy for a recent trip to Scotland as was the Bluetooth Hands Free Telephone – it really is stress free, easy driving.

The drivers seat armrest is a bit too small and thin.  I personally don’t use it at all.

There are two glove boxes – one is vented which is nice for kids’ snacks and drinks.  It is great to use in Summer but not during winter as the warm air might melt your chocolate bar!

The whole dashboard lacking is empty space!  I would prefer to put my sat nav on the dashboard than to the windows. We’ve got this Wonder Holder magnet that we use for our phone and sat nav.  It is so useful than those big black sat nav suction holders.

On the driver’s side door, one of the functions is to lock all windows. Once it is locked, you as a driver can’t even open your window. I felt it is a bit useless as you should be able to control your window. The back passenger’s window do not come all the way down which annoys my son very much!

Back Seats: We have two group 1 – 3 car seats. We have plenty of leg room and storage right underneath the seats. There is only one 12v power supply. It’s means you can’t have your sat nav on power while running the kids’ portable DVD player.

As for the boot space, we are able to fit a single Maclaren Techno XT and still leaving enough room for groceries. There boot is split into two layers. It is quite useful but it is not very deep. Last month, we managed to fit in 5 days worth of clothings, toys, laptop etc for a road trip to Scotland! We are amazed of how fuel effective it is, averaging 44mpg.
