Summer Activities A – Z: S

6 October 2014 by Eileen

Today we did our summer activities letter S. There were a whole list of activities and these are just a few of the selection.

summer activities S

S for Science

We always love science projects from mixing colours, absorbing science or putting a Mentos inside a full bottle of Coke!

S for Seaside

While we were in Singapore, we went to Sentosa seaside and enjoyed the soft sands. Both of my children had a lot of fun visiting the underwater aquarium and Universal Studios too!

S for See-Saw

We have had this see saw from TP for a while now and it still keeps both children entertained! They just love playing see saw.

S for Skipping

Skipping is a good general exercise that Mr K enjoys, particularly when Mr C challenges him to a ‘skip off’! That was him trying to skip twenty times!

S for Singapore

As we mentioned previously, we went to Singapore to visit family and friends. Singapore is an island between Malaysia and Indonesia. It is a very clean and tidy country. A place I used to call home until I left 12 years ago.

S for Stickers

Sticking is a great exercise for fine motor skills. From peeling the stickers to sticking them on the right spot requires good control. Both of my children never like peeling stickers and prefer to have me peel it for them. Since they are older now, I have to make them peel it themselves to stick it on their magazine.

S for String

Want your children to learn how to braid their hair? Why not try to tie three long strings together and get them to learn how to do it using the strings! This is another great exercise for training their fine motor skills! Or get them to braid a friendship bracelet.

S for Snake

Mr K used leftover fabric to create a patchwork snake! Such a pretty snake!

Look out for our next letter T which is teeming with activities!
