Drumond Park Dino Bite Review

1 June 2014 by Eileen

This Drumond Park’s Dino Bite RRP £19.99 is a thrilling game for 2 – 4 players and from age 4 onwards. To win this game, you have to be the last player to not get caught by the Dino! Beware there is lots of screaming, especially from me! Yes, I get so excited and start screaming… the kids all think I am mad!

Drumond Park Dino Bite review

This interesting game comes with:

  • 20 coloured eggs (blue, red, green and yellow)
  • T-Rex
  • T-Rex nest playing base
  • Tweezers
  • Dice
  • Instructions

This game requires two AA batteries to operate which are not included.  It sets a colourful scene with its realistic jungle noises and fearsome T-Rex dinosaur perched on top of a Dino nest.  T-Rex is very well made and can be attached/detached easily at the base.  A large green leaf covers a collection of twenty tiny, helpless blue, red, yellow and green baby dinosaurs who’ve been stolen from another dinosaur’s nest, and are now awaiting for us to save them.  I love the realistic jungle noises that makes the game so thrilling.  It is not very loud at all, so it’s perfect for young children.

Drumond Park Dino BIte Eggs

Each player takes it in turn to rescue an egg from the Dino nest with the tweezers supplied.  With each roll of the coloured dice they’ll find out whether they are aiming for a certain colour, have free rein to pick any Dino baby within their reach, or whether they have to miss a go.  Then it’s a case of gently, quietly does it… as they carefully lift the edge of the leaf, steadily move their tweezers into the nest, grasp the baby and lift it out to safety!  Or it’s fine for younger players to use their fingers instead of the tweezers, if they like.  We all prefer to use our fingers as the tweezers are not very easy to grab.

When that bad-tempered old Dino roars out loud and lunges terrifyingly towards us, that means the player is out!  If the Dino stays still, the player puts the rescued egg in front of him or her and passes the tweezers to the next player.  The game continues until there is only one player left who hasn’t been caught out by the ferocious beast and that player is the winner of the game!

This is a very thrilling family game!  I believe most kids would love it!  It can be scary but this is so much fun to play.  I would recommend it.
