Walkers Hoops and Crosses

13 April 2013 by Eileen

Lovely Walkers, the nation’s favourite crisp brand, has launched a fun and tasty new snack, Walkers Hoops and Crosses the playful X and O shape crisps! If you have a piece of paper, you might like to play a game against a friend, like how I played with Mr C. The X and O add a fun dimension to eating your snack.

It comes in three delicious flavours: Roast Beef, Salt & Vinegar and Prawn Cocktail. They contain 30% less fat than the average potato crisp and it is a source of wholegrain.  There are no MSG, artificial colours and preservatives. I am very happy to replace their usual bear-shaped crisps to one of these bags in their lunch boxes.

We have tried all three tasty and delicious flavours and this is what we think:

  • Roast Beef: It is very tasty! My son polished it off very quickly without letting us try it. Luckily, we had two packets and we had the other bag to try.
  • Salt & Vinegar: Overall the vinegar is not overly strong and is perfect for kids and grown-ups alike. The flavour is very light and tasty. Both of my children love it.
  • Prawn Cocktail: Again, the flavour is not overly strong but still very tasty.  Each of the shapes are deliciously crunchy.

Walkers Hoops and Crosses products

Mr K loved all of the three flavours while Ms C’s favourite is the Roast Beef flavour. I rate this 5 stars out of 5. I will highly recommend them to anyone as they are tasty and a healthier baked crisps range. I will definitely look for these in our supermarket. It comes in an 18g packet and it is a nice amount for children but not enough for adults. I wish they would do a cheese and onion flavour soon, and a large one at that!

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.

Nice to see a healthy potato product, along with a little bit of fun too.
