Making Your Home More User Friendly

18 November 2021 by Eileen

If your home is feeling a little clunky and you are struggling to do anything in it then why not change it up? This will ensure it is more user friendly, meaning everyone is happier all around. There are a few different things you can do, we are going to discuss four of them in more detail below. Some of these additions may even add some value to your home, which is always a bonus.

Making Your Home More User Friendly

Huge Wardrobe

Every woman or man dreams of having a huge walk-in closet. You always see them in the movies and they look amazing. In reality, the ones in the movies cost a fortune and you have to have a lot of extra space for it. Of course, if this space is not available then you will have to opt for a smaller one. This is not a problem as a walk-in closet is still a walk-in closet after all.

There are home videos on how to create a walk-in wardrobe and make them look amazing. They have all kinds of videos, ones for big rooms and one for small ones too. If you don’t fancy doing it yourself, it is a big job after all you can call in the experts. Carpenters will create your dream room if they give them free rein. You will never look at a wardrobe the same way again.

Walk-in Shower

Similar to a walk-in wardrobe, a walk-in shower is a wonderful addition to your home. If you are including your walk-in shower as part of a bigger bathroom refit then you will add some serious money onto the final price of your home. A walk-in shower is much more beneficial than a bath, this could be because you don’t want to waste water. It could also be that the user has additional needs and can’t lift their leg over the bath.

The only issue you might have is that walk-in showers have a bad habit of splashing water everywhere when they are in use. If a walk-in shower is not something you want to think about then you could consider a wet room instead.

Storage

A home without storage is very hard to manage. Everyone just loves storage even if it is just to throw junk in when it’s in the way. When you buy a home one of the most sought-after things buyers look for is storage. If your home doesn’t have much available you can always buy some shelves or storage units. You can also commission a carpenter to build you some built-in storage.

The benefit is not only will you constantly have a tidy house, but you will also have a greater chance at selling your home should you wish to in the future.

Add A Carport

Finally, think about adding a carport to your home. This will ensure that you can use the garage for other purposes such as storage. You could even convert the space into a whole new room in your property. Carports can be built using corrugated roofing sheets but you may wish to hire a professional to ensure you receive the best quality carport.
