Making heavenly creations with Cake Angels

2 March 2014 by Eileen

Today is another cold and wet day and Mr C needed to work.  So we decided to bake cupcakes and decorate it with Cake Angels.

I had not heard of Cake Angels until now and now I wish I knew about them earlier!  I know in supermarkets they tend to carry big brands like Dr. Oetker, Renshaw, Betty Crocker, and of course the supermarket’s own brand.  What makes Cake Angels so special from the rest is that their ingredients are unique and made in the UK.

I have received these products from Cake Angels:

  • Vanilla Icing
  • Chocolate Passion
  • Pretty ‘N’ Pink
  • Flowers Icing Decorations
  • Fruits Icing Decorations
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Party Candles

It has been a long time since I last tried piping.  With the help of the tub of vanilla icing, I am impressed how smooth and easy it was to pipe on the cupcakes.  I was expecting the icing be very hard and needing plenty of stirring to soften.  But I was so wrong!  The icing is perfect!  They are smooth and best of all, not overly sweet and delicious!  We were also impressed that even after we left the cupcake out for a few hours, the icing only had minimal crust on top.  The rest of the icing was still soft and smooth and tasted like before.

Both of my children had a great time decorating their cupcakes and they were spoilt for choice.  The fruits and flowers icing are quite hard but they are great for decorating.  They all look great and fantastic for little hands.  You can also use them to decorate your ice cream too.  The mini marshmallows are delicious.  Besides using them to decorate, you can even add some marshmallows into hot chocolate too!  Their candles are quite unique too.  Love the print!

I would definitely buy them again and highly recommend them to anyone.  I am very pleased with their products.  Next week, their school is challenging parents to make the best cupcake and compete among the class to see who can make the best cupcakes.  Now I can’t wait to show off my piping skills (okay, I still need more practise) and get both kids to decorate it!

Do check out Cake Angels website for more inspirational designs and recipes.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions remain our own.
