Some mornings you wake up and feel incredible, and others you spend the whole day wondering why your life isn’t, well, a little bit better. Often there is a range of small changes you can make that will have a more significant impact. Obviously, habits are built over time, and you shouldn’t be too hard on yourself if you find them difficult to maintain in the early days. Here are some ideas about what you can do to improve your lifestyle.
Get Up
Don’t just get up, but get up earlier. Millions of people find it so tricky just to get out of bed in the morning. Which is sad because, by the time they do get up, it’s time for coffee (if they are lucky) and heading out the door to work or the school run. There is no time to wake up properly, so of course, people aren’t happy in the morning. But you don’t really know if you are a morning person until you get up early enough to give yourself time to enjoy it.
Making time to read more is really important. A lot of inspiration can be sought in the words of others. You might choose to read something that will let you escape into another world for a while, or you might opt to learn something new. Reading for the sake of reading is excellent, but using it as a way to not always be on your phone or hook up to tech is a smart swap.
Car
Many people just aren’t in love with what they drive. There is a saying that goes something like “I’d rather cry in a Jaguar than on a bus.” Which is super disappointing because if you’re crying, you’re unhappy and it doesn’t matter what you are driving if that is the case. However, we spend so much time in our cars that you deserve to have a vehicle that is fit for purpose. So the next time your car stalls at the lights, or just won’t turn over in the cold check out Beck Evans for your new best four-wheeled friend.
Walk
Walking 5 minutes to the local shop isn’t really enough. Try to walk for at least 30 minutes a day. It is excellent for your mental health and physical health. If you want to step it up a notch for cycling, running or jogging. The blood pumping around your body is excellent for focus and productivity as well as those lovely endorphins that we could all do with having more of.
Say ‘Good Job’!
But to yourself. So much of the time, we rely on praise from other people rather than just say that we have done an excellent job and are proud of ourselves. So when you do something well, don’t be afraid to treat yourself. It doesn’t have to be big, or flashy, it might just a pair of really nice socks. Use it as a way to celebrate you.
Upgrading your lifestyle isn’t always about expensive homes and big holidays, it is the little things that give a more significant meaning and joy in your life that really counts.
