Bosworth Water Park

28 June 2016 by Eileen

Bosworth Water Park is a leisure and water park set in the Warwickshire countryside. This was our first ever visit after Mr C bought cheap vouchers to play crazy golf and have afternoon tea. We didn’t know what to expect, so we just drove there without much preparation in terms of clothing.

We arrived at the site after a 30 minute drive and we realised that the water park is much bigger than what we expected. It is also a families-only campsite which is open all year round. The site is grassed and gently sloping with a mixture of both electric and non-electric pitches. There is a playground, blue lagoon beach, crazy golf, water sports and café too.

Firstly, we headed off to the reception to get our voucher exchanged for the crazy golf but we learnt that they had just had a massive downpour that flooded the crazy golf area!  Luckily, the sun came out and they managed to sweep away as much water as possible.

While we waited for the crazy golf to dry up, we all had a nice cup of tea and cake at the café.  It is a small café with food and drink served.

Later, we headed off to play the 12-hole, pirate theme crazy golf course. I have to say that playing on a wet golf course was twice as hard!  But we all had fun with it once we lowered our expectations!

Then we went off to rent the pedalo boat for £12 for half an hour. We all were provided with lifejackets each before getting on the boat. The boat can sit four people and the two seats at the back paddle and steer the boat. We did find it quite tiring after paddling off at full steam for 5 minutes!  It was a fun experience and both my children enjoyed it.  Occasionally we had ducks swim really close to us!  Shame we didn’t have any bread to feed them. They were very friendly to human!

After returning the boat, we headed off to the playground which also has a pirate theme.  Both children were so happy playing there and climbing onto the slide.

Besides the playground, they also have this blue lagoon beach which is suitable for children to swim. I was surprise to see ducks, geese and swan swim in there too. They must be used to being surrounded by humans. It was such a shame that we didn’t pack any suitable clothing otherwise it would be a great opportunity to let both children have a swim!

Our trip was cut short by a sudden massive downpour but luckily we all managed to get into our car before getting soaked!  Some people were less lucky as had a long way to go to get back to their cars or tents!

We like this place as there are so many things you can do there, including fishing (we have no interest to do that, but wanted to mention it!). I think next time we need to pack the right stuff before we visit them again! The carpark fee can be quite expensive depending on how many hours you stay there.

What fun! A great looking family day out and I love the idea of a families only camping site too. Water activities are always a favourite with my kids, such a great way to make the most of family time together. Crazy Golf is something we would like to add to Coombe Mill, always good for a family game.

Thank you for sharing a lovely family day on #CountryKids
