Discover the outer space and transform your room with Deep Space Home Planetarium & Projector! This week, we are celebrating Science Week and we have been busy learning and exploring all sorts of activities including exploring outer space.
This table top planetarium and projector from Brainstorm is suitable for ages six and above, has its own stand and the main body of the unit rotates so you can use either the projector or the planetarium. It is lightweight and easy to use. It requires three AA batteries to operate which are not included in the box.
The planetarium has two domes, one projecting rotating star patterns and the other projecting constellations onto ceilings and walls. The black star or constellation dome twists onto the slots on the head of the deep space unit. The dome is made from thin plastic so needs to be handled with care. Now turn the switch on to the dome projector setting and watch the images rotate around your room. It makes a slight noise when it rotates but it is not loud enough to distract you. You can also add the night light dome to turn into a cool night light with rotating stars and constellations.
To use it as a projector, simply swivel the unit around and insert in the slide disc into the gap. It comes with three discs with a total of 24 colour NASA and Hubble Telescope photographs of spacecraft, astronauts, planets and nebulae. The images project up to 1 metre and still maintains clarity. To get a clear image, twist the lens head to focus the images on your wall or ceiling. The discs are easy to change and the images are sharp.
My daughter is fascinated with the images and intrigued to learn about the night sky and has a multitude of questions about each NASA photograph.
I think this is a simple and easy to use planetarium for young children. It helps them to learn the fundamentals of the universe. It is good value for money and should last for a long time. This is available to buy in good stores and Amazon.
