Want a quick breakfast to impress your guest? Then you should try this out Eggs in Baguette. This is quick and easy to make. I recently came across this on a TV programme and wanted to make one myself. I must admit that I was quite lazy and bought the baguette from a supermarket.
To make this dish, you would need a baguette, eggs, melted butter, salt, pepper and parsley (optional). I had bought quite a few large eggs from the local farm shop so I ended up having to leave some egg white out. So it is best to use small/medium eggs for this occasion.
Firstly, you would need to use a circle cookie cutter to cut a few holes and dig out some bread. Make sure you don’t dig to the base of the bread. Next brush the holes with melted butter and pop in one egg into the hole. Do the same for the other holes. Try not to overfill the hole with too much egg white just in case it leaks from the side when you pop it into the oven. Then season the eggs with salt and pepper. Bake for 10-15 minutes at 180°C. Adjust the time according to your preference of your eggs. My children prefer slightly hard egg yolks, hence I baked for 15 minutes. When you are ready to serve, place the herbs around the bread.
Now it is ready to eat! I have presented the baguette on this lovely Arthur Price bread board and bread knife set. This is available to buy direct from the Arthur Price website or other good retailers like Tesco, John Lewis etc.
This bread board is made from a good quality wood and comes with a small handle on the side. The board is chunky and has a very nice feel. It can also be used as a serving board for meats and cheese. It comes with a stainless steel bread knife with a wooden handle. The blade measures 20cm in length and overall the knife is 33cm long. It is not suitable for the dishwasher safe. This bread board is definitely a great gift for any adults. I love the shape and the size of the board which fits my baguette perfectly. This will also make a great impression when I next host a party too!
