The Worst-Case Scenario Card Game Review

13 August 2024 by Eileen

The Worst-Case Scenario is a family-friendly card game, where you are playing the victim and rank the cards from bad to worst. Your fellow players will have to guess how the victim will rank the scenarios. It is suitable for ages 10 and above and for three to six players (best to play with 3 to 4 players).

The Worst-Case Scenario Card Game Review

Inside this small yellow box, it comes with 225 Worst-Case Scenario cards, the victim wheel, 30 ranking chips (five chips per colour; yellow, black, purple, green, red and blue), a score pad and instructions. If you are too lazy to read the instructions, then watch this video below or otherwise read on: https://youtu.be/klVlmPqbyLM

The Worst-Case Scenario Card Game contents

To play this game, you need to deal the ranking chips to all the players. The five ranking chips are: 1 (bad), 2 (very bad), 3 (awful), 4 (horrible) and 5 (the worst). Select one player to keep score using the score pad. There is no pencil or pen included in the game so you will need to provide it.

Shuffle the cards and place them aside within reach. To start the game, select one player to spin the victim wheel. The victim will always get the same number of points as the player/s with the most points on each round (including any bonus).

The victim will get five Worst-Case Scenario cards and read them aloud. The victim will place the cards on the table and rank the five cards secretly by placing their chips face down next to each card. Please see the image.

The Worst-Case Scenario Card Game how to play

Then the rest of the players also rank the cards by placing their chips face down. Once everyone has played their chips, it’s time to reveal.

To score, each player scores a point if their chip matches the victim’s chip number. Also, take into account the victim wheel’s point system. Once the first round is finished, the next player becomes the victim and play continues for 12 rounds except for in a 5-player game, the game stops after 10 rounds. The person with the most points wins!

We all enjoy playing this game. It gets everyone talking about the terrible situations that you could never think of or encounter before! Do check out our review on Do You Really Know Your Family?.

Disclosure: I received this board game through ComeRoundUK (August 2024) for free. However, they have not paid me for this review, and they do not exercise any editorial control over my review or anything else on this site. All thoughts and opinions remain our own.
