Practical Ways to Drop a Dress Size This Summer

29 June 2022 by Eileen

Summer has finally arrived! With glorious weather hopefully on the way, we all want to get outside, take in the rays, and feel body confident. For those who aren’t happy with their current weight, you may have goals and aspirations to drop a dress size. Even if you had plans to do this before summer and haven’t succeeded, that doesn’t mean you should throw in the towel now. Here are some practical ways to drop a dress size this season that can help you feel more comfortable and content in your skin.

Practical Ways to Drop a Dress Size This Summer

Begin Your Day with Water

Regardless of what the weather is like, you must keep hydrated. Now summer is here, and drinking water is more important than ever. When it’s hot outside, this increases the likelihood of sweating. Even if you’re only nipping to the shops and back, you’ll be surprised at how much you can sweat. It’s wise to start your day off with a full glass of water. Doing this can boost your metabolism, which is brilliant for those looking to lose weight. Also, drinking water prevents dehydration from kicking in. No one wants to deal with headaches and fatigue during the warmer months, so aim for eight glasses of water each day.

Eat Lots of Fruit and Vegetable

In addition to upping your water intake, it’s time to start loading more fruits and veg on your plate. In summer especially, it’s wise to lower how much meat you have. Instead, focus on getting your five fruit and veg in. Not only are they great for providing you with sufficient nutritional value, but fruits and veg can also assist in shedding some weight. When the sun rears its head, it’s time to make a tasty salad! You can put just about any veg you like in it. From lettuce to cucumber, peppers to sweetcorn, the choice is up to you. If you’re feeling your salad is missing something, a bit of grilled chicken can hit the spot.

Try Green Tea

There’s a reason so many of us drink green tea. There are tons of health benefits it offers. Not only does green tea keep you active and alert, but it also has high levels of antioxidants, like Catechins. This is an antioxidant that can prevent excess storage of belly fat. For those looking to drop a dress size this summer, this should be music to your ears! It’s recommended to have a cup of green tea either when you wake up or in the evening. Whatever time you have a cup, don’t put any sugar in it! Added sugar won’t do you any favours for losing weight.

Look At Weight Loss Shakes

Lots of people turn to weight loss shakes in their quest to trim their waistline. If you want to drop a dress size, a meal replacement shake may be helpful. This is because they’re often rich in fibre and protein, which can boost healthy digestion, and ensure you don’t get bloated. Check out Shake That Weight, where you can discover weight loss shakes. They have a wide variety of shakes that can be useful in losing weight. Make sure that you have weight loss shakes as part of a balanced diet.

Stock Up on Healthy Snacks

When you’re enjoying the sunshine, nothing beats having an array of snacks to tuck into. While we’re all guilty of gorging on ice cream and crisps throughout the summer, if you’re serious about dropping a dress size, it’s time to stock up on healthy snacks. Aim for snacks that are high in protein and low in carbs. Veggies and a yogurt dip, tuna, and hard-boiled eggs are great healthy snack choices. We’re not saying you can’t have the odd treat from time to time, but if you want to get quick results, keeping healthy snacks in your cupboard is key.

Get Sufficient Sleep

Most UK homes are designed to trap heat. This means when it’s hot, you may struggle to get a good night’s sleep. If you haven’t had enough shuteye, not only will you be low in energy, you may end up eating more throughout the day to keep you alert. Of course, this isn’t good news if you’re wanting to lose weight. To help you get 7 to 8 hours of rest per night, there are things that can help cool you down. Opting for blackout curtains and sticking a fan on can help keep you cool.

When temperatures soar, you may struggle to lose weight. We know how much of a tedious job it can be to shift weight, but that’s not to say it’s impossible. It’s highly unlikely it’ll be scorching hot all summer long, so if you set yourself goals and want to drop a dress size, doing any of the above can put you on the right path to losing weight.
